Pr Joe Liles, Kim Kirby and Tevo Christmann sit together ahead of the upcoming sermon on Philippians 2. When we learn to, like Jesus, press into humility and empty ourselves, we discover joy to be a surprising result. It is surprising becuase it is not where we would usually expect to find it. It's not in seek riches for ourselves. Instead it is in emptying ourselves, surrendering to Christ and serving our neighbor.

After some lively discussion on visiting books stores, our favorite books and the future of publishing...Pr Joe Liles, Tom Helmich and Tevo Christmann discuss the end of the book of Jonah. They explore the difficulty in forgiveness, what it's like when our faith falters and end with a call, like Joshua, to "choose this day whom you will serve."

Pr. Joe Liles is joined by Kim Kirby and Tevo Christmann in discussing the third chapter of Jonah. They discuss colors, personalities, share personal experiences, and reflect on what it means to listen. How do we respond when God calls us to get up and go? The race which starts with hearing the Gospel moves into believing it through faith. Faith in turns begets obedience, which finds its fruit in a life of hope. As Paul said, "hope does not put us to shame because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit." Romans 3:5

In discussing the experience of repentance, they delve into the nature of sin, the power of baptism, what forgiveness looks like, what Christian obedience looks like, and how to live in community knowing we are all both flawed and forgiven, both sinner and saint.

Pr Joe is joined by Tom Helmich, Kim Kirby and Tevo Christmann once again to go over some of the latest at TNC and recap the sermon Tom Helmich preached on Sunday. They reflect on God's all encompassing presence and sovereignty. God has the ability to see what we cannot, even through storms. Often what appears to us to be consequences are in fact blessings. Knowing we cannot hide from the Lord, we must learn to press in and trust Him.

On this episode, we share the joy of bringing our high school and college seniors up to help with our KidCITY message and pray over them! You also get to hear from Pastor Joe, Kim, Tevo, and Tom about their own high school graduations and whether their churches did anything for them.
We ask the question, "What is Pentecost?" and talk about being filled with the Holy Spirit. Then, we break down Esther. Mordecai sits at the gate and waits, and what does that mean in our own lives? Also, when is a time that we stood for our faith, meaning when it is a time that we witnessed to our faith?
