  • The Making of The Hobbit Movies was a DISASTER
The Hobbit movies are just so much fun to hate 😆 Description by Wikipedia: The Hobbit is a series of three high fantasy adventure films directed by Peter Jackson. The three films are subtitled An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Desolation of Smaug (2013), and The Battle of the Five Armies (2014).[5] The films are based on the 1937 novel The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, with large portions of the trilogy inspired by the appendices to The Return of the King, which expand on the story told in The Hobbit, as well as new material and characters written especially for the films. Together they act as a prequel to Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

The screenplay was written by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Jackson, and Guillermo del Toro, who was originally chosen to direct before his departure from the project. The films take place in the fictional world of Middle-earth sixty years before the beginning of The Lord of the Rings, and follow hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), who is convinced by the wizard Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen) to accompany thirteen dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), on a quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch). The films expand upon certain elements from the novel and other source material, such as Gandalf's investigation at Dol Guldur, and the pursuit of Azog and Bolg, who seek vengeance against Thorin and his kindred.
The films feature an ensemble cast that includes James Nesbitt, Ken Stott, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace and Luke Evans, with several actors reprising their roles from The Lord of the Rings, including Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Elijah Wood, and Andy Serkis. The films feature Manu Bennett, Sylvester McCoy, Mikael Persbrandt, Lawrence Makoare, and Stephen Fry. Returning for production, among others, were illustrators John Howe and Alan Lee, art director Dan Hennah, cinematographer Andrew Lesnie, and composer Howard Shore, while props were again crafted by Weta Workshop, with visual effects managed by Weta Digital.
The first film in the trilogy premiered at the Embassy Theatre in Wellington, New Zealand, on 28 November 2012. 100,000 people lined the red carpet on Courtenay Place, and the entire event was broadcast live on television in New Zealand and streamed over the Internet. The second film of the series premiered at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California on 2 December 2013. The final film premiered at the Odeon Leicester Square in London on 1 December 2014.[6] The series received mixed reviews, but was a financial success and became one of the highest-grossing film series of all time with $2.938 billion in worldwide receipts. It was nominated for various awards and won several, although not as many as the original trilogy

  • Furries Talk Trans Rights
Discussing trans rights and how to help! Artwork source: https://twitter.com/TwistHound/status/1060575427972997121?t=4mX-Ps8jAVmCEhlSPsk99w&s=19 Description from Wikifur: Transgender (or trans) people are those with a gender identity that does not match the sex they were assigned at birth. A persona's gender identity can be male or female, can be a nonbinary or third gender, or none of these. Some transgender people identify as transsexual if they desire or undergo a medically-assisted transition. When used as an umbrella term, the term is sometimes broadly defined to include crossdressers regardless of gender identity. Being transgender is distinct from sexual orientation, and trans people may be of any orientation.
Many transgender people experience gender dysphoria, stress associated with their assigned sex, and may transition socially, medically, and/or legally. Not all transgender people choose to transition, and some who would like to transition are unable to for medical or financial reasons.
    Transgender and furry
As with real life, transgender and transsexual people exist within the furry fandom. One derogatory stereotype of the fandom is that any person playing a female character is either a trans woman or a man playing pretend.

  • Beginner's Guide to Planetside 2 (Tips and Tricks)

PlanetSide 2 is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online first-person shooter developed by Rogue Planet Games and published by Daybreak Game Company. The game supports battles with thousands of players (up to 2,000 on a single map)  and incorporates modern first-person shooter mechanics. Six different  infantry classes and over 18 ground and air vehicles are available to  players and interact on the battlefield to simulate combined arms warfare. As a "re-imagining" of PlanetSide, PlanetSide 2 chronicles the efforts of three factions fighting for territorial control of the planet Auraxis.

Along with its prequel, PlanetSide 2 is one of the very  few massively multiplayer online first-person shooters to have ever  released, and is presently considered one of the most successful titles  in the genre. The game uses ForgeLight, a proprietary game engine which supports high player counts while retaining performance and graphical fidelity. PlanetSide 2 operates on a games as a service business model and is supported by microtransaction purchases. Since its launch, the game has received regular updates which have introduced new content and mechanics.

PlanetSide 2 received positive attention from critics, and  was praised for its scale, innovation, and graphics, but some reviewers  were divided over the game's free-to-play model, technical glitches,  and difficulty for new players. PlanetSide 2 currently holds the Guinness World Record for "Most players in an online FPS battle," which was set when 1,158  players were recorded in a single battle during an official event. This  record was beat unofficially in 2020 when 1,283 players participated in a  single battle on the game's live servers. (Description by Wikipedia)
