Most Important Characters - Maria, Mother Abbess, and Captain Von Trapp

It is the story of Maria and Captain Von Trapp, but ultimately the Mother Abbess is the one who keeps these two headed towards each other. And the nuns all end up saving the family in the end!

Least Important Character - Rolf

When we looked at characters the story could have done without, it was hard to choose one! The Sound of Music is so well written there aren’t any characters that aren’t important for one way or another. But. When we looked at the role of Rolf, if his relationship with Lisel just didn’t exist, the movie would lose charm (No “16 Going on 17??”) but we feel like all the characters would still end up where they did in the end.

What if Maria had become a nun after she runs away from the Von Trapp family and the Captain’s affections? Would Maria have a better life or Captain Von Trapp?

Maria as a nun. It just doesn’t fit her character! But we think Captain Von Trapp at least would see and understand his children, thanks to Maria’s example. So he would have them to focus on moving forward without her. But Maria would have just been sad and lonely 🙁

What if Captain Von Trapp had been taken to join the military before they were able to escape at the music festival?

This would have taken this movie from a wholesome musical to a dark military film. All of a sudden the family would have been ripped apart and the Captain would have sacrificed himself for them leaving Maria to raise the children alone during World War II. Ouch…😢

Most Underrated Scene - the Break-Up Scene

If you want to watch a calm, collected, and clearly communicated break-up, the scene between the Captain and the Baroness is very well done. Both communicate what they need and where they are at. Then when it doesn’t match up, they respectfully say goodbye. Bravo, not easy to do!

Overall, this movie lives up to its iconic status.

The story and writing are all essential while still warm-hearted and charming. No explosions or gags just to have them. Everything is purposeful and done with class and taste. Sorry internet, we disagree big time 🙂

From animated to live-action, Disney Plus offers many different Star Wars adventures for Star Wars fans of all ages and interests. Here’s what Star Wars show you should check out next to celebrate May the 4th!

Best Animated Series for Corban - The Clone Wars

“It’s like reading the Harry Potter books. It’s a big commitment!” But once you have gone through it once and you are familiar with the storylines and characters it introduces, you can dip back into your favorite parts and relive the best storylines! And it sets up Ahsoka, The Bad Batch, and The Mandalorian. So if you feel like something doesn’t make sense, The Clone Wars is the encyclopedia to refer back to😂

Best Animated Series for Camari - Star Wars Rebels

If you love the original trilogy, then this series will feel that nostalgia. It’s the beginning of the Rebellion so several original trilogy characters pop up including Princess Leia and Old Ben Kenobi. Also, you get a glimpse at what happened to some of the Jedi who survived Order 66.

But Don’t Sleep On The Bad Batch!

The cast of characters in this show is so fun and compelling! Watching this rag-tag group of clones bounce off each other while unraveling just what the Emperor is up to right after Revenge of the Sith. Season three just wrapped up, so now is the time to binge the entire series.

Must Watch Live-Action Star Wars Series for Corban - Andor

If you liked Rogue One, then Andor is the Star Wars show you need to check out this weekend! It has the same dark, gritty feel of the movie with a thriller vibe. Who was Cassian Andor before Rogue One? His origin story is all right here. And season 2 is coming out sometime this year! 🤞🏼

Must Watch Live-Action Star Wars Series for Camari - Obi-Wan Kenobi

For anyone who loves the original trilogy, this takes A New Hope and gives it extra fun depth. If you want to see Darth Vader at his most powerful (and brutal), see Leia’s family dynamic, and experience how beautiful her home planet of Alderaan is, this mini-series is for you.

Awards

Cutest Wittle Guy Award - Star

Look at his little face! 🥺Give us all the plushies and toys!

Ruined Disney Musicals Award - Lin Manuel Miranda

This man has set the standard too high for modern Disney musicals. Everything he does is AMAZING. So now, anyone else who does a Disney musical has a rough uphill battle ahead.

George from Aristocats Award - Sabino

We love George and he was the inspiration for Sabino. Does Sabino look one hundred years old? No, but I still see the glimmers of my favorite Disney old man.

I Think That’s the Real Villain Song Award - “At All Costs”

“This is the Thanks I Get?!” is pretty good. But one of the most incredible songs in the movie is when the villain and the hero share a duet. And it is gorgeous! No other song describes better Magnifico and Asha’s motivations. At the same time. Like, wow.

Welcome Potterheads to our first Disney Harry Potter mash-up! From Disney Princesses to Villains, we work through a list of characters from Buzzfeed to see if our Hogwarts House sorting matches those of the internet. Vote below as you listen along! In which Hogwarts House do you think these Disney characters belong?

Ariel is a Slytherin

Look, not all Slytherins are bad despite Ron teaching that to Harry in book one. Ariel is ambitious and driven. She knows what she wants, even if it is impossible. And figures out a way to get legs and meet Eric. Mermaids and humans? Not a thing…until Ariel makes it happen!

Hades is a Slytherin

Being one of the Big Three on Olympus is just not quite enough for Hades. He may not always have the best help but his ambition and never-say-die (ha) drive is very Slytherin-esq.

Maleficent is a Gryffindor

Maleficent believes she has been wronged. And to right that wrong she is going to do what she feels is right. AKA curse the kingdom’s baby princess…? Hey, we aren’t saying we agree. But she is doing what she believes is right. So it’s Gryffindor for us.

Flynn Rider is a Ravenclaw/Slytherin

For us, it depends on where we are in Flynn’s story. At the end, one of us sees Flynn as a knowledgeable and witty character who is a realist looking at the facts. The other one sees him throughout the movies as resourceful and driven to get the dream he wants the most. You decide.

Mulan is a Hufflepuff

Everything she does is for others. She puts her dad’s safety ahead of her own and leads with her heart wherever she goes. She may not be what we all think a Hufflepuff is (patient and nice) but her heart is full of kindness for others, through and through.

Hans is a Slytherin

I mean, he pretends to love Anna and then tries to kill her to get his own kingdom so he can be King. Ambition and drive? Check and check.

Belle is a Ravenclaw/Hufflepuff

Belle does sacrifice herself for her dad, just like Mulan. And gives Beast a fair chance, despite his beastliness. But she is also fiercely intelligent and loves to learn. You tell us…

Governor Ratcliffe is a Slytherin

“Mine, Mine, Mine” is the most Slytherin-ish villain song in all of Disney. Enough said.

Tiana is a Slytherin

This girl knows what she wants and is willing to work two jobs and save every penny to get it. Driven and ambitious are her middle name. “Almost There” is the Disney Princess song for Slytherins!

We will send out the second half of polls next month, so keep your Sorting Hats ready to vote!

Luke Skywalker or Leia Organa

Anakin or Padme

Remember those high school days when lunchtime discussions about celebrities would morph into “Kiss, Marry, Kill"? A little bit gruesome now that we are thinking back on it…so we are giving this classic game a Disney twist and a dash of wholesomeness! Today’s game is all about Disney props from animated movies and we may have the opportunity to destroy some of the most harmful props in Disney movie history and save the world! 😀 (Too much?)

Below is our list of props with at least one from each Disney animated movie made before 2021. Would you see, own, and burn the same props we did?
