Jo Petroni works at the quiet threshold most people skip, the part before the design and the decisions, where you learn what a place is actually saying. Her methodology, Listen to Your Land, sits inside a quiet redefinition of what it means to own a place: less title deed, more relationship; less project mode, more belonging. The questions stop being what can I do with this land and become what is this place already holding, and what am I in this relationship? The work is as much about the steward as it is about the place. Inner regeneration precedes site regeneration. She trained as an architect, but the real work begins before the architect phase starts, and it's closer to listening than to building.
