Hey Soothers! In today's podcast, I explain a metaphor I've been using a lot in my 1:1 coaching lately: That of the rock, and the river. In this metaphor, the rock is the person tossed around by the river, at the mercy of the river, without much agency or control in how it gets swept along. The river, on the other hand, is the life force that moves as it will. When we're in passive mode, not setting boundaries, giving away our power to others, we can think of that like being the rock. But when we're the river, we shift into a force of energy that is powerful. So tune in to hear about how you can become more like the river in your own life.

As I continue to talk about leadership and promote the Highly Sensitive Person Leadership Academy, a theme I want to touch on is that Small Leadership is a skill we're all going to be called on to develop in coming years. This is especially needed as we go into the diminishment of many larger systems outside of us, that we have up until now counted on to lead us. We're in a time when we're moving away from large, monolithic leadership, and we're going into an era of learning to rely on, tend to, step up within local communities. I know a lot of you don't view yourself as leaders, but I'm urging you to reconsider. Leadership isn't going to be optional in the future. We're all going to be called to step up in some way, whether we plan for it or not, whether we want to or not. And that's my mission with HLA. To give you the skills to handle leadership, when that time inevitably comes. That, to me, is small leadership.

Hey Soothers! Here's something I deeply believe: the body is a sacred vessel. It is the physical container for and way we express our heart, soul and mind in the world. However, too many of us rarely consider our bodies in this process, and it's hard to slow down to connect and listen to its needs and wisdoms. I find HSPs in particular can really struggle with this, as we may have had to disconnect early on in life from our bodies and live mostly in our analytical heads. But the reality is the wisdom of our bodies, and then the care of our bodies, is so important in our work, our leadership, and our life. So today I dive into one way we can begin to get back in rhythm and touch with our bodies — our menstrual cycles. Don't have a cycle? I'll teach you some nature-based strategies for aligning with a similar approach and energy.

The future of the world is leadership that is cyclically informed, respectful of our bodies' needs and wisdom, and aligned to a natural cycle. Tuning into our bodies and menstrual cycles is one important way to begin to create this future.

Hey there, Soothers! As you know I'm opening my Highly Sensitive Person Leadership Academy on September 5th to the waitlist (it'll open to the public two weeks later) and today I wanted to root and ground in on what I even mean by leadership.
