Episode 40: You Can Make a Difference

In today’s episode I had a wonderful conversation with Jeshurun Newman, a dedicated canvasser, leader, and political science major at Southern Adventist University. Many are perhaps perplexed as to what they can do in the midst of such racial turmoil in this country. This episode delves into what canvassers can do to make a bigger impact on the people they canvass. At the end of the day, if we’re not showing love to all people, then the books we leave won’t have as much impact as we think they do.

In today’s episode I had the opportunity to talk with Jennah Angyo, a longtime canvassing friend of mine. In today’s racial climate, not every conversation is easy, but if we’re ever going to heal from the wounds of the past, uncomfortable conversations must be had. Regardless of your color, we need to be aware of the problem if we want to be apart of the solution. Canvassers especially should be on the forefront of sharing a message of hope for all people.

It wasn’t an easy task as racism deeply wounded his self-image and ultimately led to his leaving the work all together. However, God has a strange way of bringing us back to His service.
