🎙️ Episode 4: Breaking Old Patterns — The Lies That Keep Us Stuck | With Justin
Sometimes the hardest thing to leave behind isn't the drugs.
It's the person we became while using them.
In Episode 4 of The Next Right Step, I sit down with my friend Justin for an honest conversation about identity, fear, trauma, self-worth, and the patterns that can keep following us long after we get clean.
We talk about growing up believing we weren't enough, using substances to find acceptance and escape pain, becoming trapped inside identities we never truly wanted, and eventually having to face the person staring back at us in the mirror.
Justin shares openly about incarceration, getting clean in prison, rebuilding his identity, learning to let people love him, and discovering that the person he believed he was destined to become wasn't who he had to remain.
We also get into character defects, people-pleasing, fear, step work, relationships, making amends, and the realization that recovery isn't something we finish.
It's an evolutionary process.
And sometimes breaking an old pattern begins with something incredibly difficult:
Letting down the walls.
💬 What is one old belief about yourself you've had to let go of?
