Renowned entrepreneur Johnny Sirpilla explains the inspiration behind his best-selling book, Life is Hard but I'll Be OK, including how he and his wife overcame the loss three of their children.
Born into a wonderful family, Johnny considers himself blessed to have had an excellent start in life. But nothing could have prepared him for the greatest loss of his life – the death of his first three children on the day they were born.
Life can be tragic and present you with unimaginable scenarios, but you have the power to move past them. Pain is inevitable, but if we make it purposeful and learn from it, it can help not only ourselves but also the people in our lives.
Johnny believes the key to his extraordinary business and life success is that he finds purpose in what he does. Work can be fun if we realize its purpose and how that purpose impacts things that are beyond ourselves. Johnny believes that our work and personal lives are intrinsically linked and that who we are at work is merely a reflection of who we really are as an individual.
Johnny also details his unique approach to leadership and the handling conflicts in the workplace, which is based on facing reality, honesty, and respect.

‘Southie’ Jack Maxwell shares his journey as kid from South Boston kid growing up without a father figure in a bad neighborhood to host of the successful show Booze Traveler, his battle against cancer, and how he’s grateful to be alive after everything he’s been through.
From an early age life has never been easy for Jack. He clearly remembers the day his drug-dependent father chose his addiction over him. Fortunately, with the help of his wonderful mother and grandmother, he managed to break the cycle and grew up to be a happy and well-adjusted human.
Jack created the opportunity to lead the fascinating show Booze Traveller, where he visited over 50 countries to learn about their people, culture, and stories “through the lens of a cocktail glass.”
It was through the show that he got to meet people that taught him that alcohol is more than just a relaxing end to the day; it’s a ritual that can form an integral part of a community, a culture, and its people.
He was also delighted to find certain commonalities among people everywhere—their ability to have fun, to love, and to tell great stories despite the language and other cultural barriers.
Unfortunately, the show ended because Jack was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Although he went through several painful treatments, he’s now cancer-free and immensely grateful that he’s still here.
Jack believes that we are here not only to search for our own happiness but also to make others’ experiences better. And if everybody feels the same way we can create a better world for everyone.

Brad Yates is an expert in emotional freedom technique (EFT), commonly known as tapping. EFT is a protocol I can personally attest to.
Brad was a trained, practicing hypnotherapist with an acting job (Days of Our Lives!) on the side. Brad's wife, on the other hand, was a director of a program for homeless men and women. Having a real-life superhero for a wife, Brad felt like he was called to do more. And that was when he stumbled across personal development, which eventually led him to EFT.
EFT, a process that involves tapping different acupuncture meridians, is believed to address many different issues. After incorporating EFT to his hypnotherapy sessions, Brad found himself losing patients because of the permanent healing EFT provides. Brad thinks that tapping to meridian points sends calming signals to the nervous system, which causes relief.
EFT has no approved therapeutic claims. But does this mean it’s not real? No. In fact, an Australian psychology professor did a chemical study where brain scans showed that an abnormal brain activity was normalized after the subject underwent tapping. There are also other researchers that back up the authenticity of tapping.
Many people are still skeptic about EFT, but it’s definitely worth a shot given the scientific evidences. Some may argue that Brad doesn’t even have a medical license. But how do we explain that he’s able to make people better?
