In this episode, Nicnac thinks back to the horrors of being a child and having that natural wonder beaten down and suppressed. Although Nicnac has never been able to tolerate children (even as a child) they see and know the pain of childhood. They encourage those that do have the skills needed to be there for children to let them be human. They encourage adults to remember a free their inner child.

Trigger Warning: This is a deep, heavy, and honest episode that may not be suitable for everyone including dark themes, politics, and autistic life struggle. Please proceed intentionally and do your own thinking as required. If you don’t have the ability to listen with an open mind please don’t!
Show Notes
In this episode, Nicnac reviews some notable media portrayals of Autism and autistic traits and puts them in the context of their personal experience of life on the spectrum as best they can. They focus their efforts on Raymond from Rain Man, House from House MD and Leonard and Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory. Nicnac notes that the writers for House and Big Bang claimed their characters weren’t Autistic. Likely to try and give themself artistic license. Although Nicnac loves both shows at various points in their runs Nicnac views this move as dishonest and harmful to people that live the lives portrayed on a daily basis. Rain Man is a far worse case of the writer using Raymond as little more than a cheap story mechanic to force change in the main character (keep in mind Nicnac is a struggling writer. They get these things).
Nicnac again emphasizes the incredible diversity of the spectrum and how little those that don’t have lived experience truly know about Autistic life. Nicnac encourages media creators and consumers to be inclusive ad admit when they fall short. Nicnac strives to hold themselves to the same standard.

Show Notes
In this episode, Nicnac wrestles with the reality of their internal world and how that impacts the way they see the external world after losing a social connection they had a lot of hope for earlier in the month. While they know that attempts at sharing their internal world rarely go well no matter the social context, they hold steadfast in their desire to embrace their authentic autistic and borderline self.
They express hope that careful online communities can continue to find the kind of lived truths that medicine and science can’t. Feeling that, although life for anyone not rich white and male is difficult, it’s better to intellectually and emotionally battle oppression than to completely withdraw and mask. Nicnac ain’t down yet. But, they’ve more than had it with a world that is hell-bent on oppressing divergent thoughts.
They close by again encouraging others with lived autistic experience to take Detester Maginzine’s educational survey if they have the capacity to do so. They are putting as much as they can into listening to others with greater or different knowledge of the lived experience than they possess. Please see the links below so you don’t have to take their word for it.

In this episode Nicnac talks of a frantic string of continuous P3D flights mostly over The Pacific between California and Australia and ending in Toyko before they finely took a full-fledged 24-hour rest. They note their attempts to comply with FAA rest regs even in the sim because fatigue is just as much of a factor in the sim as it is in real life (though real-life consequences are more real). Nicnac states their support for carrying more than 2 crew members on any flight longer than 4 hours.
Nicnac talks about sim flight tracking software and hopes that Mr. Davies may be able to find a way to hand off projectFly and allow users to export without contacting support. Nicnac has been using Voltanta backed by Orbx since December 2020 and is looking forward to premium. Nicnac ends by talking about The Flight Sim Association and FSExpo and how their feelings about both have grown more positive and appreciative based on the fantastic webinars.

In this episode, Nicnac explains why they love taking the PMDG 747 to Melbourne so much despite the crazy trip length from the US west coast. They also talk a bit about The 747, ETOPS, their dream airliner, and their dream sim. If you listen closely the theme song may get explained as well.
