Dustin Nielson and the fellas kick off the show buzzing for tonight's season opener at Rogers Place, as the Edmonton Oilers host the rival Vancouver Canucks! Is tonight shaping up to be an absolute beatdown by the Oil?
The first segment we hit on today's show was Morning Announcements for The Haddies Golf Shop to recap the sports action from yesterday.
After the break, we dove into The Fan Zone for Northern Gauge! In this segment, Dusty asked the nasties what their predictions are for the upcoming season. This took us to the end of hour one.
We got the third hour started with Mr Mikes Kind of Easy Trivia.
It was then time for Three Questions Too Many presented by Park Mazda.
Joaquin Gage was the final guest on today's show. He stopped by to talk some F1 and plenty of Oilers talk as tomorrow is the big day.

Dregs shared his thoughts on how Mike Babcock managed the bench through exhibition play, emphasized why a fast start is critical for the Oilers, and gave a bleak forecast for Vancouver's upcoming season. To wrap up, Dregs scanned the Pacific Division playoff picture before weighing in on how long Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will remain paired on the top line.

Bruce Boudreau was the first guest on today's show. He shared his thoughts on the preseason being 4 games now as opposed to being 8. What are his thoughts on this and is it enough time? With the season upon us and him being the former bench boss of the Canucks, we got his thoughts on the Canucks for this season. He was asked to make a list for coaches who he thinks could be hoisting the cup by seasons end which he touched on and then he finished with his thoughts on what Vladdy said yesterday about his contract.

After the break, we got into everyone's beefs from the week.
Reid Wilkins capped off the hour with his beef, his thoughts on the Mooses comments from yesterday and who he thinks will be on Hyman & Nugent-Hopkins line at the start of the season. Then finished with a preview on the Elks game this weekend.

We also touched on yesterday's board of governors meeting, where the NHL will expand next and Bill Guerin's contract extension.

TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button kicked off today's show to share his thoughts on new head coach Mike Babcock, highlighting how entertaining the bench boss's arrival has been and will continue to be this season. Craig weighed in on whether Babcock's presence gives Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl an extra boost, and whether a second line featuring Zach Hyman, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Ike Howard packs enough punch to keep McDavid and Draisaitl paired together. He then outlined his expectations for the Oilers' bottom-six forward group, breaking down the key traits that make a lower-line unit effective. To wrap up, Craig provided his forecast for the Winnipeg Jets ahead of the upcoming campaign.
