Myths, dreams, mysteries, and the eternal return. In this episode I discuss some of the essential elements of the thought of Mircea Eliade, his understanding of the pagan relationship to history and time, the introduction of faith through the Old and New Testaments, and the development of the philosophy of history in modern thought.

The one I discuss, the longest, is Cur Deus Homo (Why God Became Man). In it he philosophically explores the fittingness of God becoming human and choosing to both suffer and die for mankind.

I wanted to do an exciting four-hour episode on tariffs but received even more death threats than usual over it, so we pretended not to know anything about them to make all of you feel better. After that we talk about how much white fathers love immediately forgiving non-white people for killing their children, the hit British show Adolescence that’s a…
The disappointing return you’ve all been waiting for. We discuss the Studio Ghibli Goblina and why no one is going to feel sorry for her just because she got deported while also being hideous and a criminal, why everyone actually loves “punching down,” that brilliant lady at that John McCain rally years ago who called Obamna a Muslim, and Obesegoth revi…
