On December 07, 1958 five members of the Martin family left their home to go looking for greenery for the upcoming Christmas holiday. On December 09, 1958 Ken Martin's boss called the police when Ken hadn't reported for work. The police found nothing suspicious, but noted that a Santa Clause costume for was found laid out on the bed for an upcoming Christmas party which suggested the Martin's had planned on returning home. Several months later the bodies of two of the Martin girls where found floating in the Columbia River. The bodies were found thirty miles away from each other. The Martin's car nor the three other Martin family members were ever found. A gun stolen by the son Donald Martin was found at the scene of a recovered stolen vehicle. The vehicle was suspected of being operated by two escaped inmates Light and Price. Light and Price were both seen in the same restaurant where the Martin family was last seen eating.
