The tulips paintings are based on a recently 'discovered' tulip book. The tulips are painted on wooden panels with tempera standing in the tradition of the painters of the 17 century.

Introducing Ninetynine Tulips, an artproject where I create ninetynine tulip paintings from the period of the tulipmania. For this project I research the history of tulip and the present day situation of the tulip. And that is big in The Netherlands!
