Stealing is bad, but Pushpa makes it kinda cool.

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 follows Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun), a laborer who rises through the ranks of a red sandalwood smuggling syndicate in the forests of Andhra Pradesh. As Pushpa builds his reputation and power within the illegal trade, he becomes entangled in conflicts with rival smugglers and law enforcement, including police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil). Along the way, Pushpa’s relationship with Srivalli (Rashmika Mandanna) adds another dimension to his increasingly dangerous life. The 2021 Telugu-language action drama also features Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari as Kesava and Sunil as Mangalam Srinu.

The Nomads of Fantasy returns for Season 8 and the final entry in our Summer of Sequels!

For our 180th episode, we jumped back into Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall 2, and we had an absolute blast. This is a game that still holds up incredibly well. The controls are fluid and tight, the movement is fantastic, and the campaign constantly finds new ways to surprise you.

What impressed us most was just how much fun Respawn managed to pack into a single-player shooter. Every level feels like it has something different to offer, and the result is one of the best shooter campaigns we’ve played.

We’ve always been big fans of Respawn, and Titanfall 2 is a great reminder of what makes the studio so good at what they do.

The Summer of Sequels continues as we head back to the streets of Old Detroit to revisit RoboCop 2 (1990). Does this follow-up successfully build on Paul Verhoeven's sci-fi classic, or is it just more bullets, explosions, and corporate greed?

We break down the return of Officer Murphy, the rise of the deadly RoboCop 2 program, the introduction of the unforgettable (and unsettling) Hob, and whether the sequel's bigger action and darker tone are enough to live up to the original. Along the way, we discuss the film's satire, stop-motion effects, memorable moments, and where it ranks among the sequels we've covered during our Summer of Sequels series.

Stick around until the end of the discussion for a round of Metacritic Mayhem.

Safe travels, nomads.

The Summer of Sequels continues as we boldly go back to one of the greatest sequels ever made: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan! More than 40 years after its release, The Wrath of Khan remains the gold standard for what a sequel can be. It's a deeply human story about friendship, sacrifice, aging, and finding purpose in the later chapters of life.

Directed by Nicholas Meyer and featuring James Horner's iconic score, the film stars William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk, Leonard Nimoy as Spock, Ricardo Montalbán as Khan Noonien Singh, DeForest Kelley as Dr. Leonard McCoy, James Doohan as Montgomery Scott, Nichelle Nichols as Uhura, George Takei as Hikaru Sulu, Walter Koenig as Pavel Chekov, Kirstie Alley as Lieutenant Saavik, Bibi Besch as Dr. Carol Marcus, and Merritt Butrick as Dr. David Marcus.

Stick around until the end for a round of Trek Trivia!

The Summer of Sequels continues as The Nomads of Fantasy step back into the ring with Rocky II! After Rocky Balboa goes the distance with Apollo Creed, can lightning strike twice? We discuss how Rocky II builds upon the original by expanding Rocky and Adrian's relationship, raising the emotional stakes, and delivering one of the most satisfying rematches in movie history.

We also talk about Sylvester Stallone's growth as a filmmaker, the iconic training montages, and why Rocky II succeeds by understanding that it's not just a boxing movie—it's a story about heart, perseverance, and finding out what you're fighting for. Yo, Adrian... we did it!

Still around to the end of the conversation for a round of Movie 20 Questions!

Safe travels, nomads.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day isn't just one of the greatest action movies ever made—it's one of the greatest sequels ever made. Instead of simply repeating the formula from the first film, it flips the entire story on its head by turning the original villain into the hero. That single decision completely changes the dynamic of the movie while raising the stakes, and it's a big reason why the sequel feels fresh rather than familiar. It's also another reminder that James Cameron has a knack for making movies that continue to hold up decades later, thanks to strong storytelling, memorable characters, and groundbreaking effects.

The Terminator franchise works because of more than just Arnold Schwarzenegger. As iconic as Arnold is, Linda Hamilton is every bit as essential to the series. Her transformation from the vulnerable Sarah Connor in the first film to the hardened warrior in T2 is one of the best character evolutions in action movie history. Together, Arnold and Linda create the heart of the franchise, and it wouldn't have become the classic series we know without both of them.

Stick around for a round of Movie 20 Questions at the end of the episode!
