(9/29/2020) Caleb has haunted this world for 39 years, the boys describe Marvel's Hellstrom trailer, the not so woke LGBTQ representation in many comic book tv shows and movies, CW has cancelled Supergirl, Henry Cavill is possibly returning as Superman, comic book writer Gerry Conway has some thoughts about the current state of the comic book industry, and Jeremiah gives a late review of a movie he just saw (Knives Out).
(9/20/2020) We mourn the loss of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, I wonder if an old 1962 B-movie called Hand of Death was inspired by The Thing who debuted in Fantastic Four #1 in 1961, a documentary on Amazon Prime called In Search of the Last Action Heroes, we extremely briefly mention the return of one of our favorite shows: Archer, a new-ish show that debuted in 2018, but hardly anyone heard about until this year called Dallas & Robo, and Jeremiah finally watched Midsommar.
(9/13/2020) Episodes aren't always this hard (or ridiculous) to sync up, but this one was for some reason. Also, I was watching NFL highlights in the background and didn't care to turn them off while recording. Sorry. In this episode we talk about the recent deaths of actress Diana Rigg (Game of Thrones, The Avengers [the original, not Marvel] On Her Majesty's Secret Service) and "Toots" Hibbert (Reggae pioneer), Jeremiah talks about Lovecraft Country...again, Jeremiah talks about The Boys...again, Raised by Wolves, and the HBO Max documentary called Class Action Park.
(09/7/2020) In this episode we lament the cancellation of one of the greatest shows of all time, Venture Bros., we recap some DC Fandome news we forgot last episode such as the Flash movie (will it be the Flashpoint storyline? There seems to be evidence of several actors reprising their roles as Batman for it, we also discuss Cobra Kai (previously exclusively available on YoutubeTV) now available to a wider audience on Netflix, and an interesting documentary on the history of video games called High Score also on Netflix.
(8/30/2020) In this episode we discuss yet another tragic death claimed by the cruelty of 2020, Chadwick Boseman, we talk about some news from DC Fandome such as The Batman trailer, the Snyder Cut trailer for Justice League, Shazam 2, The Suicide Squad video game, plus Caleb gives his review for The New Mutants, Jeremiah talks about Lovecraft Country...AGAIN! and the new Jordan Peele produced Candyman trailer.
(8/21/2020) DC Comics and Entertainment is being gutted by AT&T while the USPS is being gutted by (Washington) D.C. and D.T. We mention the Beirut explosion, Jeremiah finally watched the Harley Quinn cartoon and didn't believe me when I told him it was really good, We discuss Lovecraft Country and Caleb can't wait for the return of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer (watch the live reveal of the Grand Wagoneer and Wrangler 4xE on Thursday 9/3 on all their social media platforms)
(8/1/2020) An alternate title for this episode could have been "Podcasts for Algernon." Caleb and Jeremiah are fairly intelligent people, but several months of faithful quarantining have left the memory sections of our brains in a mushy, ineffective state. We spend far too much time trying to remember the last time we recorded an episode. In this episode we talk about a theatre class in college that we hated, we talk about the deaths and careers of Regis Philbin, Wilford Brimley, John Saxon and Olivia de Havilland. We also discuss Batman Beyond and the return of the G4 Network!
(7/12? uhhh...no, 14? Wait! Maybe 16?/2020) We can't really remember when we recorded this episode exactly. It was sometime between the 12th and 16th of July. In this episode we discuss the tragic and sudden deaths of Naya Rivera, Grant Imahara and Kelly Preston; Caleb helps Jeremiah remember and pronounce hard to say actor names, and Katy Perry makes a surprise appearance (in some form or another).
(7/4/2020) Jeremiah has been living in a simulated war zone for the last couple of weeks as people have been setting off fireworks non-stop leading up to the 4th of July. Despite this, we discuss the death and career of Carl Reiner, we try to pinpoint why the murder of George Floyd had such a significant impact and managed to lead to such sweeping changes in society including the seemingly heretofore impossible achievement of the Washington Redskins changing their name. We also talk about the possibility of Michael Keaton returning as Batman for a DC project.
(6/29/2020) Sorry. This one ran a little long. Jeremiah takes a break from doing his home exercises to join the podcast. We discuss voice acting and the issue of whether it's wrong or acceptable for people of a certain race to play people of other races. This leads us to the topic of movies sometimes casting traditionally white characters as ethnic to be more diverse when they should really just create new, strong ethnic characters that can stand on their own. We realized we dove right in and started talking about the topics so instead of editing we just did our show intro in the middle of the recording because it's more fun that way. I was in Steubenville, Ohio during this recording so we discuss some of the interesting things I discovered about the area and we talk about the passing of director Joel Schumacher. Please, if you enjoy listening, rate, review, subscribe and share! Thanks!
