On this episode, I’m joined by Melanie Nadeau. Hailing from Port Cartier in Northern Quebec, as a kid Melanie loved the outdoors, was a good student, and an accomplished athlete. With all that talent, she was keen to find adventure outside of her small town, so she joined the Navy. After five years in uniform she was onto the next challenge at the University of Waterloo where she studies environmental engineering. After a short detour to Northern Ireland, she graduated and started her professional journey which eventually landed her as the Chief Executive Officer of COVE, a company focused on the commercializations of marine technology.

On this episode, I’m joined by Perrin Beatty. Originally from Fergus, Ontario, Perrin’s family arrived from Ireland in the 1820’s and his ancestors started Beatty Brothers Limited which grew into a major international agriculture and home appliance company. Perrin caught the political bug at age 12 when he helped out in a local campaign. A decade later he was a member of parliament and stayed in the House of Commons for 21 years. During that time he filled seven different ministerial positions. After politics, he led the CBC and then the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

On this episode, I’m joined by former Commander of the Canadian Army, Mike Jeffery. Born in London, England, Mike immigrated to Canada just prior to his tenth birthday and was raised Leamington, Ontario on the shores of Lake Erie. He joined the Army at 16 as a private soldier under the Canadian Army Soldier Apprentice Program. After completing the two year program, he graduated and became a gunner in the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery. Over almost four decades in uniform, Mike progressed from a teenage soldier to the Army Commander. Along the way, he developed deep, well formulated opinions on warfare, people and talent management, driving change, and many other topics related to the profession of arms.
