In today's episode, I chatted with Molly about the ups and downs of growing up deafblind. She gave me the scoop on how hard it was when teachers and students at her boarding school for the deaf just didn't get what she needed. Molly tried crazy hard to fit in and make it work, but they still left her out for needing accommodations and not knowing sign language off the bat.

She talked about how the school banned her essential guide dog Eunice from key spots like the cafeteria and even some classrooms. Can you imagine? Molly had to figure out how to get around solo after dark. She ate lunch alone day after day. Brutal.

Get this - the school cared more about some kid's supposed dog allergy than following disability law to help Molly out. She pushed back, but didn't win her discrimination case since she lacked the big bucks for a fancy lawyer.

After feeling down for a while, Molly decided enough's enough. She launched into accessibility consulting to show companies how to make their products and content work for the disabled community.

Molly's real talk on inclusion in tech is a must-listen. She's all about radical change in assistive devices to have accessibility baked into standard products rather than separate tack-on features.

Despite past exclusion, Molly wants to empower others with disabilities to have cutting-edge tools for independence. She's moved way past her painful past and has her eyes set on leveling the playing field.

In this episode (NQPC EP 44), I spoke with Holly Moscrop, a wheelchair user living and working on a farm in Yorkshire. We discussed her journey adapting to farm life with her disability, including getting a powered wheelchair with tractor tires to handle the outdoors. Holly shared how mobility aids have opened up her world, despite the stigma surrounding them. As someone working in social media, she also discussed bringing awareness to agriculture and educating people on food origins. We talked about sustainability practices in agriculture, like carbon credits for farms.
