If you ever find yourself doing a “pee dance” the second you get home and stressing about peeing your pants before you make it to the toilet, this episode is for you. In Episode 51 of the Not Your Mother's Pelvic Floor Podcast, Aliya explains latchkey incontinence or key-in-the-door syndrome - a type of urge incontinence (or a loss of bladder control that happens when we get an urge to pee). She explains why we get strong, sudden, and often uncontrollable urges to pee the moment we return home, put our key in the door, or pull into our garage and how these types of triggers are formed to disrupt the communication between the brain and the bladder.
