Wells Fargo as of next month will officially become META.

They will rename your basic savings account the "Goal Savings" as in.. "We make our quarterly sales GOAL offering you a GOAL Savings Account."

Although it's not the most obvious changes, a little rule called Reg D created so many years ago will actually be enforced more due to the newer "lenient" rules that Wells Fargo put on this account. A scheme Madoff would be proud of!

Then, per a tweet by @erdiemert, we come to find out people in their 20s have been getting their fees waived by having a Wells Fargo "Teen Checking Account" opened earlier in the decade. Well, the bean counters of Wells caught on to the dirty little secret (It's really not that bad) of getting a free account and will now charge them $10 if they don't meet requirements.

May 3rd was the 1 year anniversary of me meeting the client that ultimately got me fired last August. Bank of America makes $28.1 Billion Last Year in PURE PROFIT, and I get fired for $4.95. How? Why? Where? Huh?

Today I discuss how being short-staffed and empowered to make decisions on the fly got me a conversation with a scary looking lady from BofA Investigations for the doing the most egregious thing, which was help a twenty-something waitress get an account that she asked for and wanted.

I will discuss the details of the day, the subsequent stress of knowing that I was being targeted for termination, and my theory of how BofA overempowers certain employees with supervisory tools that they can retroactively go back and nail you on.

Tried not to make it personal.. But you know... I got fired for a silly reason.

Plus, Caller Sean makes it personal as he explains the $30 stop payment scam that BofA did to him, which I elaborate on, and how his divorce was prolonged by a decision made by  a back office hold on a deposit. This is WHY YOUR BANK SUCKS, FOLKS!

May is National Mental Health Awareness month, and I have been excited to talk about the topic of mental health on this podcast. I will discuss my own battles with depression, stress, binge drinking, and other issues that stemmed from my time at Bank of America (More of the serious stories will appear in my book)

I will tell you how banks make employees feel like you are obliged to accept their abuse of power and incessant nitpicking.

Plus I will also discuss the impact on customers, where working in the branch became a petri dish of crazy human emotion that was spurred by the policies and decisions that banks made to their clients. You will also hear me discuss how I witnessed threats of domestic violence while sitting in my office helping that was brought on by the unhelpful attitudes of Bank of America, and most certainly copied every other bank. (Some Adult Language in that discussion)

Really Hard Podcast to do, but it needs to be done.

Plus I announce how I am going to give back to charity for every part of my project.

Bank of America introduced this product as a free account as long as you didn't bug them inside the branch. You can go to the ATM and do your business and get electronic statements. If you bothered them, they would charge you $8.95 to do your banking inside.

Learn why I believe this planted the seed for future non-teller banking, and helped eliminate a lot of "problem" customers in the eyes of the bank. Those who stuck around years later then found out, that not bugging the bank actually was charging them, and even more than the original eBanking account itself

Bank of America announces that it will pay a $20 minimum wage. Sounds good right? Even I can't think that's bad...Right?

In this podcast, I will explain why the entry level positions deserve so much more. How I went from a bank with 12 employees to 4 while my pay doubled, and how it'll likely be 2-3 when the raise takes effect.

So the solution to making the bank modern is to not have your butt hurt on a lumpy couch or chair apparently.

Bank of America's Press Release on April 5th about the drive to modernize 2500 branches made me laugh and cringe, as you should as well.

In today's podcast we talk about how they twist words in the press release, essentially telling you that wi-fi and comfy couches will silence your complaining while waiting for limited staff in the "new bank model"

Learn how, despite surveys saying demand for in-person banking fell in the last two years, Bank of America is "growing" by 500 branches, despite the fact they have closed as many, if not more, in the last few years. Learn how when they max out a market and/or train clients to not go in, they move on.

Also, discover how the new banks are a godsend to BofA as they get a clean slate to train their clients not to be reliant on teller transactions. I analogize it to potty training.. SEE HOW!

Finally, a second insane statement about helping Low to Middle Income folks. Learn how it almost reads like a free health clinic in it's description, cites accessibility to bankers as "moving forward with technology" and how tailored "financial solutions" is basically you and a kiosk, with the promise of "seminars" that just sound like timeshare pitches to poor people. YIKES!
