The Nu Soul Cypher

Last week we were side tracked by technical difficulties but we are up and running!! After the past couple of weekends, there should not be a soul alive that does not know what N.W.A. stands for! We know what it does stand for though.... No Wack Audio!!!

Every week MJ has brought your the opening of the show entitled #MoreMusic. She continues this with a little help from an amazingly talented and extraordinary DJ from the Garden State (Straight Outta Illtown). DJ Sienna Chanel provides you with her take on old school hip hop to open the show.

We promised you the The Wednesday Rewind would continue and the Q-man is up to bat first as he takes a stroll down memory lane on the most controversial and influential rap group ever to grace the stage! Yes, you saw the movie but tonight we plan to discuss the music genre and sound that was born back in the early 90's with a musical tribute by DJ Truth.

Join the Q-man, T. Mitch and MJ as they take a trip back in time!!!

Instead of simply playing music from former guest, we figured it was time to bring them back to see how they've been fairing musically since our last chat. T. Mitch was not in studio the last time tonight's guest spoke with us so we expect an invigorating interview this time around!

Charisa, The Violin Diva, is live on the air with us tonight chatting about her musical journey through singing and most recently teaching violin students in New York. There's a lot to catch up on so don't miss this reunion!

As always, MJ opens the show with 30 minutes of #MoreMusic!

MJ, you have done it again! How many of you have producers that take your platform for an Indie Movement and transforms it into an Indie Revolution?! She adds to her track record of finding amazing artists by introducing the you, The Elle!

From her own page, "The Elle is an artist dedicated to distinctive and thought provoking lyricism in music that is honest, soulful and authentic. She laces her tracks with a flavor of genuine, introspective and strong willed outspokenness." You know we have an unlimited surplus of outspokenness on this show. Her latest EP "5am" was released in March of this year and even T. Mitch had to admit he was impressed by what he heard (and you'll know he doesn't get impressed!). Hailing from the Windy City, The Elle is ready make her name in this industry.

Join the Q-man, T. Mitch and MJ as they chat with this Midwest artist on her latest EP and everything else involving The Elle! Don't forget about 30 minutes of #MoreMusic!

"Woman in Light, Soldier of Mic, Soldier of Love Born to Love, born to share. Music is my religion."

Those are the words spoken by tonight's guest, Jungle Leez! "Jungle" for the colored, power side of the universe and "Leez" for her side hovering between suave and sophisticated. Born in Cameroon and raised in France, this London resident is paving her way in the music industry with a sound she likes to call "Cosmic Soul" blending hip-hop, regaee, Afro-beat and nu-soul! Inspired by some of musics most influential females, Jungle Leez is ready to make her mark with her voice.

Join the Q-man, T. Mitch and MJ as they introduce to some and reintroduce to others this singer/song writer from across the bond! And of course, 30 minutes of #MoreMusic!

Last month we got out last educational episode from the Chancellor of Soul Mike Boone for the summer. In honor of the ever entertaining Wednesday Rewind, we are reairing this #WaybackWednesday episode spotlighting the musical career of Donny Hathaway. No worries! We are still bringing you #MoreMusic. In fact, we might just go way back into The Neo Soul Show archives for some of our former guests earlier hits! So not only are you getting a blast from the past with Donny Hathaway but music from the likes of Darien Dean, Ife Thomas, Esnavi, Tracy Cruz, Margot B and many more!!

Q-man must be Professor Xavier, T. Mitch Magneto and MJ Storm as this feels like Days of Future Past!! Still lost? Well fret not! The self-prolcaimed X-Man has returned to save the game!! Lamone is back and is bringing his new album Smooth for you listening pleasure.

Lamone has been called by many a "Real Soul Singer!" His last time on the show, he brought us "On the Rocks" and "I Found Me Somebody." This time we will catch up the vocalist on everything new with him, his music and what makes him so smooth!

Join the Q-man and T. Mitch "Under the Spotlight" as we welcome back Lamone just in time for the summer!

Things just continue getting hotter on The Neo Soul Show!! After last week's sizzling interview, the Q-man and T. Mitch return this week with an amazing songstress from the center of the Universe!! Brooklyn's own, Rkhty (pronounced rah-keh-ti) is a songstress of Guyanese heritage with a smooth and soulful voice. Whether it's S.A.M., True Love or Friday Night, Rkhty is an example of what the future of soul music sounds like. Join us for what should be a breash of fresh air for these hot and humid summer days. We promise that you will sing about her!

Man oh man the heat just keeps on coming this summer!! Hopefully you are keeping cool inside and avoiding the humidity outside. Unfortunately, we plan to continue to bring the HEAT on The Neo Soul Show. Tonight we plan to play your best friend who keeps you out too late on Saturday night ensuring you will be 'Late For Church.' Our special guest is Al Chauncy!

Al is the guest that Q-man, T. Mitch and MJ would've created in a labratory. MJ would add Al's songwriting ability as he has penned songs for the likes of Teddy Riley. T. Mitch would add the hip-hop influence as Al's storytelling ability is influenced by his love for storylines in film and T. Mitch's favorite rapper, The Notorious BIG. Finally, the Q-man would add a soulful and jazzy liniage as the Son of Soul is also the son of Gerald "Jerry" Williams. What a great guest we have on tonight.

Join the Q-man and T. Mitch as they chat with Al Chauncy about being 'Late For Church', 'Stick Em Up', and to Q-man's delight, breaking new music!! Get acquainted with Al at http://www.alchauncy.com

There is nothing more beautiful then black love!! We are blessed to have an amazing group on the show with us tonight. We introduced them to you on the "In Rotation" playlist on May 27 playing their single Pineapple Tuesday. Kudos to MJ for wasting no time in booking this husband and wife duo. Did you know that Ish in Hebrew means husband? We didn't either but we did know that their sound was the "ish."

The couple uses the stage to spread their message of love, marriage, and positivity. Caleb and Andriea believe that live instrumentation is what brings music to life. Creativity is an essential element in their life together, and they feel the need to continue to challenge themselves musically. ISH feels that it is their calling to use their gifts of voice to positively influence and help others.

Join the Q-man and T. Mitch as they chat with both Caleb and Andriea of ISH as they discuss their sound of R&B, Gospel and Jazz, Thick Girls and The Vows!!

Legendary R&B / Pop artist, Joe Tex, gained international fame during the 1960's

and the 1970's, with his cross-genre mix of R&B, gospel and country, becoming

known to the music world as Southern Soul. He was known in the R&B community

as the 'country preacher'. His nemesis was the Godfather of Soul, James Brown.

Join Q-Man, T-Mitch and the Chancellor of Soul, Mike Boone on tonight's Wednesday Rewind

for an evening discussion on the life, music and legacy, on the one and only Joe Tex.
