In the first Wednesday episode of the new year, Associate Pastor T.J. Tyus sets the tone with being obsessed with all that we do, but more importantly with the word of God. He takes us through Acts chapter 9 explaining how meditating on Gods word can change our minds and hearts despite what we engaged in before encountering Jesus. Know that God loves who he corrects! No matter what you’ve done or gone through, he is not done writing our story if we allow him to continue.
5:15 - “The obsessed are blessed differently than the rest.” Follow the reap what you sow principle very closely and watch what can happen.
8:03 - Philippians 4:8. Meditate on anything that is praiseworthy. Don’t obsess with worry or problems you face. What we feed our mind consistently will grow.
11:43 - Job 5:17 tells us that blessed is the one whom God corrects; so don’t despise the discipline of the Almighty. Discipline comes with having control of your life and habits. You’ll find yourself being very structured an outlined in daily activities, which is a result of intentional focus.
17:05 - “Energy is not lost, it is transformed.” Are you obsessed? If yes, ask yourself what are you obsessed with. Is it for the works of God or not? Like Saul, he changed his passion he had for persecuting believers into preaching the gospel and saving lives. All possible from allowing the correction and change of heart through and from God.
24:02 - “Your actions must match your words. Master anything your hands touch.”
Takeaways
1. The greats are obsessed.
2. There’s no mastery without obsession
3. If you have ever worried about anything, you have meditated.
4. What would happen if you became obsessed with the word of God.
