  • Anarchist cooking with George Egg
George Egg has two major passions in his life: comedy and food. Having been touring as a professional comic for the past two decades he has grown tired of eating mediocre and over-priced hotel food. In an act of sheer inventiveness and subversion George has taught himself how to cook a vast array of three-course meals using hotel room appliances. Here he shares how to make a top quality meal in the comfort of any hotel room using just a travel iron, Gideon Bible, trouser press and kettle.

  • Werewolf erotica with Tilly Gregory
Tilly Gregory is a writer and journalist who specialises in women, sexuality and feminism. In a past life she used to write erotica for the publishing company Black Lace, under the name Mathilde Madden. Three of her novels were about ‘sexy werewolves’. Like Ginsberg’s ‘Howl’ one of them ended up in a US court of Law, to be determined if it had literary merit. Did it? Or was it just pornography for the hirsute fetishists? Tilly reveals all in her talk.

  • The history of the Martini with Rob Brandt

Robert Brandt is an illustrator by trade but, true to the spirit of the Odditorium, this talk is not about his day job but a different passion: drinking. And not any drink. You won’t find Rob wandering the streets with a bottle of Blue Nun in his hands. A connoisseur of the finer things in life, Rob’s favourite tipple is the Martini. Here he regales the audience with the history of the legendary drink and emphatically explains why James Bond’s famous ‘Vodka Martini, shaken but not stirred’ does not feature in his talk.
