Once again, from Xavier University, some local talent, Nicholas Walker and Isabella Mastroianni from Takin A Break podcast. ODP Paul talks with the ever-growing college life sensations on all things social; Finsta, Rinsta, and their story of building a podcast from nothing.
While the two, almost college graduates, share a ton of insight about using their socials (mostly IG) as a means to gain sponsorship, their fearless attitudes are an obvious contributor to their success.
Once you’ve been introduced to Nick and Isabella here on the ODP Podcast, catch up on their uncensored college life story at Takin A Break Podcast.
Is the Findlay Market Shopping App a coded, local palimpsest of InstaCart? How about Last Mile Food Rescue being an improved, philanthropic palimpsest of UberEats? Do you know what Palimpsest means?
ODP Paul and Insta-Maddy discuss fee-limits placed on restaurant delivery services by Lincoln, Nebraska local government and like cities around the U.S. Does this help the mom-and-pop restaurants or does this block-out delivery app competition?
But…the knock you off your socks moment is that technology is so well refined that the cost to build your startup is well within the realm of possibilities. Let this be the guiding light that opens the door for local businesses to work with on-demand talent.

It’s a new year with a new team. On-Demand Paul continues to focus the lens on strengthening a community, starting with the addition of local talent.
The use of on-demand talent continues to grow, but the application is an unsettled sea. Platforms such as Upwork, Freelancer, or the like, have exploited on-demand talent for their profits and have rapidly strayed away from serving their communities.
Now, reemerging from the 2020 pandemic climate and local businesses withering away, the need for on-demand talent is reaching new heights.
On-Demand Paul shares his recent additions to the team from Xavier University. How can you use local talent without signing away on 40 hours per week employees?

Aaron Rudolph lost his father to cancer. Before Aaron’s son was old enough to speak, Aaron was diagnosed with testicular cancer himself. After an unsuccessful orchiectomy, Aaron was pushed into chemotherapy. This all came after he and his wife had struggled with a miscarriage and then finally having success with IVF. His focus and endurance were thanks to his wife and son and staying positive with the support surrounding him. While 2020 added some extra challenges with health care processes, Aaron “señor bada*s” pushed through the most challenging time of his life.
It is Mo-time for the Mo Bros and Mo Sisters. On Demand Paul chats with Rich Loesing, Corporate Development Manager, from movember.com. Loesing stresses the importance of Movember beyond cancer but also for men’s mental health.
Postler, “The Fixer,” proposes a new ‘C’ to ALEC, the acronym reminding men to Ask, Listen, Encourage Action, and Check-In. The new ‘C’ is for care. And maybe an additional ‘C’ for courage, and another for confidence. The point Postler and Paul prove is that being a man is more than just having a strong, war-face. Take action at movember.com.

Economic freedom does not have to be a heartless, capitalistic venture. On Demand Paul breaks down some of the fundamental principles of how to discover work around life.
Let’s start with the problems your business faces. Are the internal issues the focus, or is it about solving problems for your customer? Are you building your community, with family and neighbors in mind?
There is a place somewhere between crony capitalism and socialism, where we can all elevate our life and work experience.
“You can take our jobs, but you can’t take our economic freedom!”
