The lawyerly advice of minute fifty-two is for Kimble to give himself up. Kimble tells his lawyer he's in Saint Louis. That conversation is on a tapped phone, so Team Sam listens to it, proving that the Big Dog was right and Kimble is alive. They listen to the conversation again, which is laced with more bells and El-trains than the actual conversation was. Deputy Sam's love of rest vests continues.

Deputy Sam puts a coat around Newman and minute fifty-one. An expensive overhead establishing shot lets us know that Kimble has reached Chicago, and immediately has a close call with a cop car. He calls his lawyer and asks for money, but his lawyer says no. He starts to Kimble give advice at the very end of the minute. What will it be?!

Newman starts minute fifty by telling Deputy Sam that he can't hear out of his right ear, and he can't believe what Sam did. Sam asks if he should have bargained with Copeland, Newman said he should have. Sam tests Newman's hearing by whispering "I don't bargain." Newman immediately regrets ever having met Deputy Sam and taking this job.

Minute forty-nine starts with a bang, two in fact, as Deputy Sam reaches around a corner and shoots Copeland. He couldn't have missed Newman by much. Sam then displays his greatest talent which is telling someone to shut up and they immediately do. Next we see Newman outside, leaning against the trunk of a car and rubbing his ear as Copeland's girlfriend is let out to a police car. Sam approaches Newman from the house, carrying a coat.

Deputy Sam busts into minute forty-eight, guns drawn and announcing that they are US Marshals. We see that it is in fact Copeland, not Kimble, that is in the house. Despite telling Newman to stick with him, Newman of course goes off on his own and gets immediately taken hostage. Copeland tries to bargain for a way out by threatening to kill Newman, and Deputy Sam and his ridiculous hat are just not having it. Copeland demand a car out front.

In minute forty-seven, Team Sam finishes their planning, which requires Cosmo's cousin's truck. Next morning the team circles a house, all of them in disguise. Deputy Sam and Newman are staggering around, pretending to be drunk, as various team members pick up weapons and unfurl their US Marshal flags. We end the minute with Deputy Sam venting some of his frustration on the front door, kicking it down violently.

A brief look at more bathroom male grooming in minute forty-six before we cut to the exterior of the truck stop. Kimble makes his way down a road before being picked up by a woman who clearly doesn't care anything about her own safety. Back in Chicago, Deputy Sam shows his love for red vests again while his team gives him details about their fugitive and where he has been spotted, picked up by some woman.

Minute forty-five shows us Kimble waking up in his leafy bed. We cut to Deputy Sam and his team getting onto a small airplane. Kimble walks along railroad tracks into a pitch-black tunnel, still tempting fate with trains, and then we see him color his hair in a bathroom.

In the flashback/dream sequence that is minute forty-four, Kimble remembers sexy times with Helen before it morphs into the horror of performing CPR on her. He then struggles with the one-armed man, our first glimpse of the mystery man at the center of the murder. At the very end of the minute, Kimble gasps awake in the forest with "you find that man!" echoing in his thoughts.

In a mostly dialogueless minute forty-three, Kimble runs through the forest then collapses. The helicopter continues overhead while police with hounds try and catch Kimble's scent, all while Deputy Sam smokes a stogie. In an exhaustion and pain-induced state, Kimble dreams of Helen.
