Today science is proving that there is a strong connection between the mind and the body. Meaning, a lot of the unexplained diseases that manifest in our bodies, are often a result of chronic mental states and patterns that we have been embodying.
Therefore, holistic healing is not only about healing the symptoms (western medicine approach), but also about getting to the root cause of the issue, which tends to be healing unprocessed emotions from the past.
Our guest of the week is Dr. David Abou Khalid, a holistic healer who explores and applies a combination of alternative methods of treatment to heal the root cause of our mental and physical issues. Examples of some of those methods include:breathwork, brain rewiring techniques, hypnotherapy, sound therapy, emotional management and more.
Dr. David is also an innovator of the Transformation Holistic Breathing Technique, a holistic healer, hypnotherapist and an international trainer who speaks on life changing topics such as the importance of our mind and body connection. He's been in the field and changing the lives of people for 20+ years.
We also talk about:
- The definition of “Energy”
- Why everything around is composed of energy
- What are the functions of our bodies chakra systems (or energy centers)
- Real definition of Law of Attraction
- Mind-Body connection
- Ways to overcome stresses of our daily life

“The day you should stop working hard, is the day you die”. Unfortunately these are the kind of messages we’re surrounded with these days as preached by business influencers and leaders. Pushing people to work hard, and fight hard for what they want without balance or break.
I am not opposed to hard work and grit, but what I am opposed to is slaving our physical and emotional bodies to hard work in non sustainable ways and for no justifiable reasons, and that would often lead us to a burnout.
I have recently experienced a career burnout and to say that I was suffering is an understatement. I’ve also been getting feedback from the One Day Podcast community to talk about this topic, and so I decided to dedicate this episode towards this theme.
Burnout is a gradual process that creeps up on us and eventually could break us. It is therefore very important we deal with it before it develops into a bigger health problem. In this episode I explore some major signs of a burnout, the drivers of a burnout, my personal experience with career burnout as well as some practical solutions we could apply in our personal and professional lives to mitigate exhaustion levels.

The conversation and the magic continues with Mr. Kaddoura in this part 2 episode…
During this segment of our conversation we talk about a pivotal moment that took place in Maher’s life, and that’s the passing of his 17 year old son, Hikmat, due to a car accident. Mr. Kaddoura shares with me candidly how he was able to pull himself out of that darkness, and turn that chapter into purpose and light. An extremely inspiring story that will put things in perspective.
Nonetheless, in this episode, Maher does not shy away from sharing some of the most incredible and relatable tips on becoming a better person, leader, and partner.
His why in life is to create impact, educate and inspire as long as he’s breathing, and we are here to be witness and receivers of it! Enjoy this one.

“The day I run out of reasons to jump out of bed, I am dead” - Maher Kaddoura. This quote represents my guest of the week in a nutshell. A man of purpose and service.
Maher Kaddoura is one of the most successful Jordanian (and regional) entrepreneurs and executives. He is truly a jack of all trades; beyond starting businesses and being the youngest managing partner at Accenture - Middle East, Mr. Kaddoura today is an angel investor, a philanthropist, a social change activist and serves on the board of investments funds, universities, research centers globally.
Beyond the professional world, Mr Kaddoura is also an adventure seeker and a public speaker. He enjoys coaching young generations around business and life concepts, such as “the Falafel Theory” and “refire don't retire”, which we will explore during our conversation.
The interesting philosophies and belief systems he shares during our talk will make you question your own and will definitely inspire you to adopt new ones. Some of the other topics we delve into include:
- What it takes to be a true entrepreneur
- The secret ingredient to a successful leader in today’s digital economy
- The real meaning of having a strong why
- Strong habits that can power your dreams and passions
I am particularly excited about this episode because besides the wisdom that you can learn from Maher’s extensive experience in business and leadership, he is genuinely a fun and an upbeat human to be around. His energy and optimistic view on life is contagious and leaves you feeling happy, and in this episode, you’ll get to experience a taste of that.

We live in a hyperactive and connected digital world where everything is moving online including people’s interactions.
One of the biggest disadvantages of such a transition is that now we get access to people’s personal and professional lives in seamless ways like we’ve never had before, whether that be through social media, LinkedIn or any other online platform.
With that comes a lot of conscious and subconscious comparisons with other people’s lives and career transitions, which if done consistently could be unhealthy to any individual, especially to younger generations.
In this episode, I decided to explore this topic and cover some of the healthy and unhealthy ways of comparing ourselves to others, because believe it or not, our brain is designed to compare itself to its surroundings by default. However, we need to bring intention and consciousness into this process or else, we could fall into the trap of constantly feeling like we’re less than others.

Stand-Up comedy is one of the hardest jobs on earth. Could you imagine standing in front of an audience to try and make them laugh? My guest this week is one of the biggest stand-up comedians and YouTube personalities in the Arab region, Fahad AlButairi.
Fahad was doing stand-up comedy back when none existed in Saudi, or in the region as a whole. Not only did he succeed at it, but his career completely took off from his first ever official performance in 2008. Shortly afterwards Fahad was sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the scene, such as Gabriel Iglesias, Maz Jobrani, Tony Rock and Eddie Griffin.
In the conversation we talk about the importance of reinventing ourselves, especially when we feel stuck or that we’ve got more to offer to this world. This discussion is very relevant to Fahad’s artistry journey since he decided to re-shift focus away from stand-up comedy and explore other areas of creation instead. Today, he is an actor, writer, and a creative producer, with a constant strive to expand on his capacity as an artist and grow.
We also talk about:
- The entertainment industry in Saudi and how billions of dollars are being invested in it to revamp it
- How stand-up comedy is worse than public speaking, and the preparation a stand-up comedian uses to master his performance
- When would be the right time to leave a 9 to 5 job to pursue a passion
- The possible future of film and entertainment in the region

We’ve been hearing and seeing the term “growth mindset” everywhere. We see it on LinkedIn Job postings as a “criteria” for hire, on the title of personal development books, …etc.
But what does that term even mean? What would it take for someone to have a growth mindset? Why is it important for us to adopt a growth mindset in today’s busy, connected and digital world we live in? How different is it from having a fixed mindset?
In this episode, I deconstruct this concept and dig deep into defining its various aspects based on the research I’ve come across, successful people I’ve interviewed, and drawing from personal experiences.
Growing and evolving is being human, but some have the capacity to grow at faster rates than others, and it has to do with their growth mindset levels. The good news is that we could change and develop a growth mindset; you are not born with one or the other.

Every single human on this planet has access to a powerful yet an often under-utilized tool that can transform their lives, and that’s the breath. We take our breath for granted since we are not educated enough about the ways we could use it to improve our lives.
Ancient traditions have used the breath as a tool for spiritual transformation for thousands of years. There is a variety of breath-centered meditations followed in Buddhism, Taoism, Sufism, Christianity, Shamanism, and martial arts. Breathing is, obviously, nothing new, but it has had a big revolution in the last 60 years.
Taking us on a journey of understanding the breath is Walid Aboulnaga. an Adventurer, Entrepreneur, and Transformational Facilitator who has left his stressful corporate world behind to embark on a journey of self awakening, training with masters of breathwork, to eventually start “Nafas”.
He created Nafas as a vehicle to awaken people to the power of their breath and their internal worlds. Nafas curates and creates transformational journeys combining spirituality and adventure for soul seekers and anyone seeking a disconnect from a busy lifestyle.
Today more than ever, knowledge around using our breath is important. We lead extremely busy lives addicted to our black screens; jumping from an email to another, a phone notification to a message to a zoom call…etc. We don't pause enough, we don’t breathe enough.
That’s why the conversation I had with my guest, Walid, is one that is extremely important as it cuts across business mindset and life. Without the right energy and mental clarity, you won't be able to show up to life the way you should and deserve.

Why does it have to stop at Ramadan, lent or any other religious period?...
During certain religious periods we tend to uphold certain mindful habits. We become more conscious of our intentions, actions and words. We take the time to contemplate more, and practice gratitude. However, as soon as these religious periods are over, we lose some of the self-discipline and consciousness in living.
This is my last Ramadan themed episode, and I decided to end it on a self reflection that sums up the month to me. I noticed there’s a lot of great qualities I practice during Ramadan but that tend to decline after the month is over, such as: being active with charity, practicing mindfulness, or even re-kindling social connections that tend to die out during the year…etc.
In recording this episode I am also promising myself to become more of the things I do or represent during Ramadan. Let me know if any of what I talk about resonates with you by leaving a comment on any of the podcast platforms, YouTube or my Instagram posts.

We are sticking to the social entrepreneurship theme for the month, and this time we’re hosting Zaid Souqi, the founder of The Orenda Tribe.
Social entrepreneurship can manifest in different ways, but The Orenda Tribe does it very differently and nothing like I’ve heard or seen before, which is why I knew I had to host Zaid and learn about all the cool things they are up to.
The Orenda Tribe uses Art and other interactive mediums as vehicles to promote awareness around crucial social topics, such as Climate Change, Recycling, Gender Equity and more. Very unique value proposition.
I also speak to Zaid about the very interesting personal journey he’s been on, which opened his heart to social entrepreneurship. He left the 9 to 5 corporate world behind him and went on a self reflection journey to South Africa, which then sparked a movement within him… and the rest is history.
Another great conversation that I won't forget since we explore topics around passion, purpose, and finding one’s calling…
