What is the ultimate desire of your life? If there were one thing, one defining goal that shaped every decision, relationship, and pursuit, what would it be? In this devotional, we continue Psalm 27 and reflect on David’s clear and honest answer in verse 4: “One thing have I desired of the Lord.” Though David lived a full and complex life as a king, warrior, husband, and father, he identified a single driving desire—to live in the presence of God. This was the goal that shaped everything else. When our ultimate desire is to dwell in God’s presence, it reorders our priorities, calms the noise of life, and brings clarity and peace. Everything else becomes smaller when we center our lives on knowing, pursuing, and walking with God daily.
