On this episode of the podcast, we spoke with Josh Thorp
Josh is earning his BS in Finance from Florida State University. He loves fitness and improv, and he also has a passion for therapy. In the future, he’d like to mix finance and therapy by talking with people and solving their financial problems.
Josh also coaches improv as a member of No Bears Allowed, Florida State’s improv comedy troupe. His goal as a coach is to always be on the student’s level. He doesn’t want to be seen as an authority figure, but rather, as an equal to those learning improv alongside him.
Josh compares improv, finance, and fitness by pointing out that there is a lot of grandstanding involved in these communities. From the outside, it might seem like only the people involved with these pursuits can actually do them. Josh doesn’t want to perpetuate that feeling in anything he does.
Josh is always going to be himself, and that brings him hope. His philosophy can be summed up in a few words, “This is me. Take it, or leave it.”
