About Young Kim
Young Kim is the Director of Orchestras at Johns Creek High School in Johns Creek, Georgia. Under his leadership, his ensembles have performed four times at The Midwest Clinic and eight times at the GMEA State Music Conference. Other notable appearances include the 58th Biennial MENC Conference and six European concert tours.
A highly sought-after clinician, guest conductor, and adjudicator, Mr. Kim has served on the faculty of the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program and has conducted numerous All-State and Honor Orchestras throughout the United States. He has also taught at Interlochen Arts Camp, Georgia ASTA Music Camp, ENCORE Camp, and the University of Georgia Summer Music Camp.
His honors include the 2006 Georgia Music Educator of the Year, the Georgia ASTA Lifetime Achievement Award, Johns Creek High School Teacher of the Year, and three S.T.A.R. Teacher Awards. He currently serves as the certified Head Adjudicator for the Georgia Music Educators Association Orchestra Large Group Performance Evaluation.
