We've run with StormBreaker several times, and while we absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their original location on Mississippi Ave. in North Portland, it's a little cramped.

Today on the podcast, we're catching up with Eric Ebel, the Brewmaster at Laurelwood Brewing located at 5151 NE Sandy Blvd. in Portland, Oregon. I first met Eric back in July of 2018. Eric had been working at Laurelwood for a few years at that point but was only in his second week in that role. Things were a little hectic for him, but he was handling it well.

I stopped by Laurelwood recently to see how things are going for Eric, and to learn about any new "stuff" they have going on. In this episode, Eric talks about a few of the beers they are working on, discusses some collabs, and also talks about what he's really excited for related to beer, brewing, and all things Laurelwood in 2019

My wife and I have four kids, so Laurelwood holds a special place in our hearts. It is the family go to spot when we want to get out of the house for a beer, great food, and a place to let the kids roam freely between the play area and the table.

Today on the podcast, we’re getting to know Tom Cook, the founder of Von Ebert Brewing. We'll talk about the people, the passion, and the philosophy that’s driving this relatively new Portland Brewery. Cook used to operate a Fat Heads Brewing franchise out of the same location. They have now split ways, and attempting to make Von Eberts and "All-Around World Class Brewery." No small task, but Cook is up for the challenge as we discuss.

Today on the podcast we are exploring the Barley, Barrels, Bottles, and Brews exhibit at the Oregon Historical Society. I had the opportunity to tour the exhibit when it opened back in October with Executive Director, Kerry Tymchuk, and Laurie Erickson, Curator of Exhibitions. They gave me a private tour and pointed out some of their favorite pieces in the exhibit. On the show today, I'll be sharing some of my favorites, and a few points in Oregon beer history that you need to know.
