On this review for The Outlaw Nation, host John Rocha is joined by his fellow Geek Buddies Shannon McClung and Michael Vogel to give their SPOILER filled review of Netflix's The Trial of the Chicago 7. The film from writer/director tells the true life tale of one of the most bizarre court cases in US history. The film is based on the infamous 1969 trial of seven defendants charged by the federal government with conspiracy and more, arising from the countercultural protests in Chicago at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. The trial transfixed the nation and sparked a conversation about mayhem intended to undermine the U.S. government.
It stars Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Mark Rylance, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Frank Langella, Jeremy Strong, Alex Sharp, John Carroll Lynch and Michael Keaton.
