PCOS or Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition in which the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of male sex hormones resulting in numerous small cysts (fluid-filled sacs) that form in the ovaries. In America alone around 6-12% of the female population are formally diagnosed, but with diagnosis rates taking time and often being overlooked there are many more out there who suffer. PCOS not only impacts a woman's fertility it also has adverse effects on weight gain, hair growth and overall mental health. In today's episode I am talking to Cory Ruth,a Registered Dietitian, fellow PCOS Cyster, and women's health expert.
