In this podcast Conor Gearty, human rights expert and author of On Fantasy Island: Britain, Europe, and Human Rights, talks to George Miller about human rights in the UK. Conor discusses topics including negative ‘myths’ that surround the Human Rights Act and its relationship with the European Court of Human Rights. Daragh discusses topics including how the law of armed conflict is present in military actions, such as air operations, and how the law is keeping up with the changing nature of hostility, including cyber-attacks. Daragh talks about how the law of armed conflict can be enhanced and understood more with human rights law in certain situations. With an absence of practical guidance of how human rights law is applied in times of armed conflict, Daragh explains that a need for this has arisen.
