In this Lockdown Sessions special, @ blcklistd, @vanwilljamz, @millzgp and @rain_nelson_445 sit down with long time friend and brother Franklin Boateng - @kingoftrainers - to continue his and @vanwilljamz's conversation from Frankin's Instalive on 1st June 2020 which saw them share their difficult experiences as black men within the sneaker industry.
The guys discuss Franklin's difficulties running a brand, the hardships black creatives face, his growth into Europe as well as sneaker culture within the UK. The questions of why there are less opportunities for black people within the UK sneaker industry and why brands seem to be more influenced by white personalities is also visited and discussed. Leading on from this, Franklin sheds light on how people of colour could progress from both a creative and brand point of view.
