We learned a few weeks ago that when we are loved we are real and can't be found ugly. But what does love have to do with it? This week Rob talks about how this is interpreted in both the old and new testaments. We look at how Jesus wanted us to love and let it show up and show out.

As we walk through life, do you look for things that will bring you security, or things that will grant you freedom. Rob talks to us today about identifying the difference and what Jesus is trying to teach us through this passage.

If you were creating you, what would your best self look like? Would you be taller, slimmer, or more robust? Would you have dimples and a sweet smile or a funny sense if humor? Would you be in the middle of things or would you be just one of the gang? Would you be a risk taker of play it close to the vest? And finally would you squeeze the toothpaste or roll it? Today Rob talks about finding our best self.

How many of us have people in our lives that have passed a baton to us? Who have we passed a baton to? This Sunday we welcome our new pastor Rob Gill and his family to the Parkway Heights Family, and Rob talks about the legacy we have to not only pass on to others, but how we need to always press on to find that highest calling of Jesus in our lives.

Jesus left his followers to continue his work. They did not quietly resign themselves to a life of telling each other stories about Jesus. Instead they discovered of Jesus’ life and Spirit when they began to share the good news with others — even when they weren’t sure what that exactly meant.

Many people grow older, but not everyone truly matures. In Galatians, Paul points us to a

life where we are continually equipped to experience the future God has for us. Living that life, requires that we make one specific choice.

After the last Supper, Jesus prays specifically for his followers—that they might be one with each other and one with him. Through the prayer Jesus points his disciples to the

interlocking connections they will need to experience joy, hope in this life.

We all live within certain assumptions about what can happen and what can happen--about what is possible and what is not. But what if those assumptions were simply wrong?

Jesus' declaration of his mission angered many of the good religious people in his day. Jesus' choice to offer radical grace to people in the situations and circumstance they were in was a radical move. Now, we're called as his followers to pursue that same path.

Maybe there's more to the parable of the Good Samaritan than we realize. Loving God and loving others can be far more challenging than we may want to admit, especially when loving others means acting in love towards those we despise. Susan challenges us to consider how we can begin to have a heart of love for every person.
