According to Mission Australia statistics, more than 100,000 Australians are homeless.

That’s a jaw-dropping number of men, women and children who don’t have a solid roof over their head each night.

This week, Mission Australian called upon Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to do more at a national level about reducing homelessness.

Already working to help those who are experiencing homelessness - and other social issues - is the Rough Edges cafe in the inner-city suburb of Darlinghurst in Sydney - near King’s Cross

Supported by the local church St John's Darlinghurst, Rough Edges is a supportive and caring place for people living on the streets.

Grant Bickerton

Feeling relaxed? Probably not, because we live such busy lives. Australia used to be known as a highly relaxed nation but that has changed. 

It often seems like we are on a frantic rollercoaster and we can't get off. For many of us, we don't want to get off because we find so much of our meaning from being busy.

When someone asks us how we're going, what's our common response? “Busy.” And if we are not as busy as usual, we can almost feel guilty if we're not as busy as other people are. As if we have to justify why life isn't hectic.

Grant Bickerton is a psychologist based in Melbourne, who works in well-being, training and development with Christian missionaries for Campus Crusade for Christ Australia.

The focus of Grant's PHD was on occupational stress, looking at burn-out and how religious factors influence our wellbeing at work.

Grant spoke about the plague of busy-ness in Australia and how a biblical understanding of rest can lead to a sustainable, balanced life.

Richard Chin and Dominic Steele at the 2CH Studios

It was a privilege on Sunday night to be able to spend half an hour in the 2CH studio with Richard Chin.

Richard is the leader of the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students, the national group of Christian University Students.

He speaks here frankly about his work, life, the discovery that his wife Bronwyn had terminal cancer, her death, life without her, and his hope in the resurrection of Jesus.

Cath Peeters and Otto Peeters in the 2CH Studios at Pyrmont

Cath and Otto Peeters have spent the last month at Ronald McDonald house while their little six year old boy Noah has been recovering this last month from 12 hours of brain surgery. 

They shared on air the story of Noah's miraculous recovery.  

Cath and Otto want to thank all those people who prayed for them during this period.

I don’t know if you caught SBS on Tuesday night…for the important disturbing program this week on Dateline, called ‘Allow me to die!’

SBS Europe Correspondent Brett Mason followed the journey of two people in Belgium, and he was actually present as one of them killed herself.

Brett you set out to ask the question … has Belgium … which has the most liberal euthanasia laws in the world … got it right or gone to far?

How did you get involved in the story in the first place?

In Belgium - they are not just talking about people with terminal illness… and bringing forward in a sense the inevitable…. but actually sometimes perfectly healthy people….one woman grieving the death of her daughter….

You describe on your blog the day … a woman Simone kills herself….and you see the final moments of her life.  She seemed nice, and in the footage you showed, not particularly miserable….. but wanted to die.
