A great number of people use the word “proof” in contexts where it is not at all appropriate. This often leads not only to error, but also to inflexibility of thought, and even fanaticism. This episode talks about this phenomenon, and gives suggestions on how we can refine our thinking by using these terms correctly, and above all, understanding what they actually imply.

Of course, there are many types of beasts of burden: horses, llamas, oxen, etc. The subject of this discussion between MichelAngelo and myself is, quite specifically, the “mule”. For you see, those “2000 Mules” have brought us startling revelations about what really happened in the U.S. in the autumn of 2020...

This week, someone at the Supreme Court “leaked” information about the internal conversations of the justices and how they will probably rule on the issue of possibly overturning Roe vs. Wade. The fact that this leak seemed to indicate that that controversial 1973 decision may well soon be overturned unleashed a tsunami of hysteric rage on the political left. But what was behind this “leak”? Was it perhaps done to distract from something else, as so often happens in our times? MichelAngelo and I delve into this topic more deeply...

Why is it that we think about things in a certain way? In this episode, I use the example of rejoicing simply because “it’s Friday!” to explain how we regularly program our minds to form beliefs that may in fact have become completely irrelevant.

Elon Musk has bought Twitter, and censorship on that platform could well be a thing of the past: what a horrible turn of events for the totalitarians on the political left! But did the famous billionaire really just make that rather pricey purchase because he wanted to restore free speech there, or is this all a part of the bigger picture in this war for the minds of the masses? In this episode, Michelangelo and I delve into this topic in depth...

Traditionally, when someone becomes a physician, they take an oath, the so-called “Hippocratic Oath”, whose purpose it is to serve as a sound ethical guideline for the practice of medicine. In this episode, MichelAngelo and I discuss how doctors the world over have chosen to violate this once-sacred oath by committing acts that are most likely making poor old Hippocrates roll around in his grave...

Clif High recently published an essay that is so good that I felt motivated to read it in this short episode. Theme of the essay: people who think, and those who don’t think. Brilliantly written (as is practically everything that Clif High writes), this essay really “hits the nail on the head”! See the line below to go to the page of the essay, and don’t hesitate to become a subscriber of Clif: he always has something fascinating to say!

During the Hitler years, the majority of Germans supported the criminal regime, either through active participation, or else through passive acceptance. Yet even under the threat of execution, there were some brave individuals who refused to remain passive, and who took any measures they could to offer resistance to the Nazis. Sophie and Hans Scholl, brother and sister, were two such heroes. True, in the end they were captured and executed for their “crimes”, but through the subsequent decades, they have served as an uplifting example to all those who feel that liberty is well worth risking one’s life. Unfortunately, in our times, there are pitifully few people who have that courage – all the more reason for us to remember the “Scholl siblings” in our own day, so that we may be inspired to do whatever necessary to win back our basic freedoms.

We sometimes hear people expressing a desire to “believe”. This strikes me as a bit foolish. Shouldn’t we rather desire to KNOW, if at all possible? In my view, belief should only begin where the possibility of knowing ends. This episode explains why...
