    The Fire in Our Hearts - In this episode, author, psychotherapist, and happiness coach Dani La Barrie talks about her book, “Stories of an Ex-Party Girl: How to Feel Happy and Good about Yourself Without Alcohol and Drugs,” on the eve of its publication. Recorded on the day the podcast was launched, Dani, discusses her trepidation with baring her soul publicly in her book. She talks about her practice and the events she hosts, which include group meditations and cacao ceremonies. The conversation touches on topics like the discomfort in the process of personal growth, letting go of our resistance to change, the importance of de-stigmatizing therapy, and what it’s like to be a young person in long-term recovery. Hear her conversation with host, Tom Gentry, on episode seven of The Path to Authenticity. Dani has over a decade of professional and personal experience with mental health and addiction and she is taking everything she has learned to the mainstream. Once having a problem with drugs herself, Dani is on a mission to connect with and serve as many women who are seeking happiness and huge transformation in their lives, breaking the chains and cycles of unwanted habits.

    It's a Daily Practice:  Episode 80 of The Path to Authenticity features yoga instructor and holistic coach Diana Paschal. She talks about her journey from childhood, in a small town in rural Tennessee, to finding a spiritual path in adulthood. After spending time abroad, she landed in New York where she pursued a career in marketing and spent some time acting. There, she developed a yoga practice and, ultimately, began teaching. She now lives and works in Los Angeles.
    Diana Paschal is a 500 E-RYT yoga & meditation teacher and holistic health coach who guides others to self-inquiry, clarity, compassion and wellbeing.     A Few Positive Words:  Episode 79 of The Path to Authenticity features retired high school journalism teacher John Snyder. In the first 45 minutes of the episode, he discusses his life and career. The remainder of the episode focuses more on issues around journalism in modern America.
    Snyder taught in high schools in central Indiana for 38 years. He spent most of those years teaching at schools in the city of Kokomo. At Kokomo High School, Snyder functioned as the faculty adviser for the Red & Blue, the publication where host Tom Gentry served on the editorial staff from 1989 to 1991.
    Born in LaPorte, Indiana, Snyder graduated from LaPorte High School in 1970, Ball State University in 1974, and with a Masters in Education from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in 1979. He began his teaching career at Arlington High School, In Indianapolis, in 1974, and retired from Kokomo High School in 2012. For 10 years, he taught summer workshops for high schoolers in photography and sports writing at Indiana University-Bloomington. He also interned at the  city’s daily newspaper, the Kokomo Tribune. Snyder and his wife, Deb, have been married for 46 years and have two sons, Jason, an elementary-school principal, and Bryan, a project engineer for Caterpillar, Inc.

He leads the clinical care team at Colorado Medication Assisted Recovery. He is a strong advocate for ethical reform within the addiction treatment field and is excited to promote CMAR as an ethical and thought leader in the industry. He helped develop a small therapy practice into a nationally-recognized addiction treatment program, which offers multiple levels of care to recovering professionals. Michael is a strong believer in the family disease model of addiction and has focused much of his clinical work and training on supporting families impacted by addiction. He also specializes in treating individuals suffering from co-occurring chemical and process addictions.
