What if one of Haiti’s greatest treasures is not only its culture, but also its incredible biodiversity—some of which is found nowhere else on Earth?

In this episode of The Path We Take Podcast, we sit down with Anne-Isabelle Bonifassi, a Conservation Biologist and the Executive Director of the Haiti National Trust, an organization created to protect Haiti’s environment and biodiversity for future generations.

We discuss the Haiti National Trust’s mission to identify Haiti’s biodiversity hotspots, acquire land for protected parks, and establish long-term measures to preserve the country’s natural heritage.

Anne-Isabelle Bonifassi also shares why protecting these ecosystems is so important. Haiti is home to many species that cannot be found anywhere else in the world, making it essential to preserve the places where they live so they can continue to survive and have a protected home.
