About Mike Baker:

"I have been with Eastview since 1995, starting as a youth pastor. In 2007, I became the Senior Pastor. My duties are primarily preaching, praying, leading staff, and loving people. My wife Sara and I have two grown sons, Mikey and Caleb. Mikey, our tattoo shop owner/artist, is married to Monica, and they have 4 children: Ian, Eli, Ella, and our miracle Israel. Caleb is married to Jessica, and they have a precious daughter, Sophie. Caleb is a pastor in Arizona. Drawing inspiration from the great preachers of the past guides me in sermon preparation. C.H. Spurgeon is probably my favorite for his passion, his love of the word, and what he accomplished in his ministry. I am very much looking forward to the pain-free, tear-free, death-free eternity that Christ has prepared for us as described in Revelation 21:4."

About The Paul Garcia Show:

I have conversations with remarkable people about their incredible lives, experiences, and insights, in order to educate and inspire you, my lovely viewers and listeners. My guests are often from central Illinois, but sometimes from far beyond. In addition to my weekly podcast episodes, I also film an on-the-street show called "Paul on the Street" where I ask real local people for their opinions on important topics. My goal with this entire media production business is to contribute to uniting the people of America by showing them that we can have thoughtful, respectful, enlightening conversations with everyone - especially people whom we disagree with.

Dan Gable is the most well known name in the wrestling world. He won an incredible 181 matches in a row in high school and college, with his only defeat coming in his very last match in the NCAA finals his senior year... "And then I got good." Gable says... At the 1972 Munich Olympics, the then Soviet Union announced one goal: We will find a wrestler who will defeat Dan Gable. They were unsuccessful. He went on to win the '72 Olympic Games without surrendering a single point. Astonishingly, these accolades are trumped by Gable's coaching accomplishments. As the University of Iowa’s all-time winningest coach from '76 to '97, Gable won 15 NCAA Team Titles (9 of which were consecutive), 21 Big Ten Team Titles (Every single year he was head coach) and produced 152 All-Americans, 45 National Champions, 106 Big Ten Champions , and 12 Olympians including 3 Bronze Medalists, 1 Silver Medalist, and 4 Gold Medalists.

Dan's philosophies and coaching methods have helped create and even save many great men. His legacy is titanic, bur as you will see, his heart is even bigger. In this episode we will discuss everything from receiving The Presidential Medal of Freedom, Donald Trump wrestling in High School, and making wrestlers run 15 miles weekly in the winter in Iowa, to Dan's time on The Joe Rogan Experience, the importance of having Faith in God, and how to Dan got the most out of his athletes.

It was an immense pleasure to speak with one of my heroes. I hope you enjoy this episode.
