Michael Nesmith or as many call him "Nez," is a singer, songwriter, producer, recording artist, entertainer, director, author and actor. In addition to his work with the rock band The Monkees, Michael Nesmith has recorded and released more than a dozen studio and live albums. His songs have been sung by some of the greatest singers of all time from Linda Ronstadt to Andy Williams.

Michael Nesmith and the First National Band will be performing some concerts in California. First on October 2, 2019 at the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, the next night October 3, 2019 it's a show at Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles. A singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist, performer, recording artist and teacher. In addition to performing his own material, he's interpreted everyone from his contemporaries to standards from the Great American Songbook. Livingston Taylor has shared the stage with Joni Mitchell, Jimmy Buffett, Linda Ronstadt and his sister and brothers who are all musicians. Taylor is also an author, he wrote the renowned book "Stage Performance." Recently he's released a box set called LIVe - 50 Years of Livingston Taylor Live." It's a retrospective look of his live recordings from the past 50 years.

Keen has been called one of the foremost voices in the world of Americana music. A singer, songwriter, prolific recording artist and renowned live entertainer who has performed thousands of concerts nationwide. As a songwriter he mostly writes solo, but has also written with some of the greatest writers from Lyle Lovett, Fred Koller to Dean Dillon. Some great artists have performed and/or recorded his songs from George Strait, Nanci Griffith and Lyle Lovett to groups like the Dixie Chicks and the Highwaymen. Guitarist, composer and produced David Becker is one of the most unique voices in modern jazz. As the bandleader of the David Becker Tribune, he has toured around the world and has shared the stage with everyone from Chick Corea to Miles Davis. His latest album entitled "For John" is a tribute album for guitarist John Abercrombie recorded with Brad Rabuchin who was the last guitarist for Ray Charles.

Prior to a European tour, he joined on The Paul Leslie Hour as an in-studio guest. Along with an in-depth interview, he performed a selection of his songs. It's a listening treat.

A very popular movie had a character who said "personality goes a long way." Personality is important and this radio co-host and assistant producer at "The Bert Show" Davi Crimmins has it in spades. She likes to call herself a "Radio Muppet." Aside from being a radio personality, she's a comedian, live performer and emcee.

This archival interview was recorded on the street of Atlanta in May of 2011. Her name was Davi Masi then and she married the man mentioned in this interview. It's a pleasure to bring this interview to your attention. It's right here on The Paul Leslie Hour.

At songwriting, Jim McBride is a master and has the string of hits to prove it. Yet, the Alabama born McBride remains a very humble and down to earth man. At one point he worked for the Post Office, but his passion pushed him to what he loved most. The world of music has benefited greatly from his decision. It was in 1980 that the legendary Conway Twitty recorded McBride's song "A Bridge That Just Won't Burn" that he cowrote with Roger Murrah. It was his first #1 hit. This pushed Jim McBride to move to Nashville. Johnny Lee and Waylon Jennings also went on to have hits with Jim McBride songs. He met Alan Jackson and the two hit it off and wrote songs together. Their #1 hit songs including "Chasing that Neon Rainbow" and the pair's most successful song "Chattahoochee" helped propel Jackson as a country music superstar. The greatest singers of all time from Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Brenda Lee, Jerry Lee Lewis, Reba McEntire and Crystal Gayle have all chosen to record his one of a kind songs. In 2017 Jim McBride was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. It's a real thrill to have him join us here on The Paul Leslie Hour.

Singer and songwriter John Frinzi makes his home in Florida although his story starts in New Jersey. A recording artist and a prolific performer, he writes some very captivating songs and is proficient on both guitar and piano. His vocal stylings can have a folk element and at times a bit jazzy. Frinzi has collaborated with hit Nashville songwriter Aaron Scherz, but has also written songs with novelist Tom Corcoran.
