Hello! Welcome back to another exciting episode of The People's History of Film. This week we have another international guest in the shape of Sam Woolf, a Vancouver-based staff writer for the pop-culture website We've Got This Covered. Sam is an astonishingly prolific film and television critic and an all around fun guy to talk to. Seriously, this was an interview full of laughter and silly stories in which Sam and Dalton realize they very well may be the same person, or at the very least long-lost brothers. The potentially separated-at-birth pals kick things off by gushing over their love of FX's Justified and wind up hitting it off really well. Sam then blows Dalton's mind when he talks about his favorite movie theater memory. Get into it, party people.

Hello! Welcome back to The People's History of Film! This week we have on actor, and Dalton's good friend, Kaleb Bruza.

Back to the matter at hand though, because this is a fun episode. It's another installment in the "people Dalton is real life friends with" series of interviews. Dalton knows Kaleb as someone he goes to brunch with first and as an actor second, so things quickly steered towards the story of how Kaleb caught the acting bug and what motivates him as a performer. They then move right into the questions proper. That's not to say there aren't a fair number of conversational digressions, including some talk about Dalton and Kaleb's mutual appreciation for women's eyebrows. That's what happens when you get two chatty guys on microphone together.

Welcome to the thrilling conclusion of our two-episode arc in which Dalton sat down with Alexandra West and Andrea Subissati. Alexandra and Andrea host the Toronto-based horror analysis podcast, The Faculty of Horror. Let’s clarify that once again he sat down with them via Skype - Dalton isn't allowed to go back to Canada after that one incident...

In part-two of his talk with the titular Faculty, Dalton interviews Andrea Subissati. Like Dalton, Andrea has an academic background giving them a similar approach to their appreciation and dissection of film. Unlike Dalton, Andrea's a straight-up horror movie expert and a published author who combined her love of horror and her sociological knowledge in the book When There’s No More Room In Hell: The Sociology of the Living Dead. The conversation covers a wide range of topics including Dalton and Andrea's preferences in Batman movies and even a little Fight Club, because of course it came up in both interviews. This is Dalton we're talking about.

Alex has also been published in The Undead and Theology (2012) and The Canadian Horror Film: Terror of the Soul (2015). In 2014 she joined the staff of Rue Morgue magazine to which she is a frequent contributor. In addition to being a prolific author Alex is the co-curator of the Toronto-based horror lecture series The Black Museum, and the host of the horror YouTube channel THE BATCAVE.

Welcome to part one of an exciting two-episode arc in which Dalton sits down with Alexandra West and Andrea Subissati. Alexandra and Andrea host the Toronto-based horror analysis podcast,  The Faculty of Horror.  Let's clarify, he sat down with them via Skype. We aren't made of money here.

On this episode, Dalton chats with Alexandra West. Alex not only comes from a family of creative folk, but also has an academic background in performance theory. This background and upbringing give her a unique perspective on film and the analysis thereof. Dalton and Alex chat about being theater kids, their respective nightmare fuels, and briefly debate the merits of David Fincher. Because, being a white dude, of course Dalton can't shut up about Fincher. 

Alex's writing has been featured in The Toronto Star, Rue Morgue, Famous Monsters of Filmland, and Shock Till You Drop. She is a regular columnist for the magazine Diabolique. Her first book, Films of the New French Extremity: Visceral Horror and National Identity,  will be published by McFarland Press in July 2016  - it is currently available to Pre-Order. 

Dalton's back, and possibly better than ever. The jury is still out on that last part. But, he is definitely back, and this week he brings with him, Heath Huffman. Heath Huffman is a local comedian working in Oklahoma City and is one of the co-founders of SAAD Boys OKC, an experimental comedy troupe working the OKC circuit. He is also no stranger to GoodTrash, in fact he guest hosted on our E.T. episode of the GenreCast and did a bang up job.

This week our host and his guest sit down to laugh and discuss the movies that shaped Heath's world. Dalton and Heath have some great in-depth discussions of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Fight Club, and Hot Rod. Heath informs us that historical, groundbreaking cinema can go fly a kite to make room for his favorite movies if that vengeful Deity does get his way.

On an especially giggly episode of People's History, Dalton sits down with one of his very favorite stand-up comedians in the Oklahoma City comedy scene - Alex Sanchez. He's an extremely funny dude and an all around sweetheart, but you don't have to take my word for it; check out a great set of his here.

This is especially fun because Alex readily admits to having next to no background with film and is a self-professed lover of bad movies. This wouldn't be much of a people's history if I only talked to filmmakers and folks that write about film. If you like silly stuff then this is the episode for you. If you hate laughter, maybe sit this one out.

Alex is the announcer of the monthly comedy show The Golden Hour and the newly anointed co-host of the Josh and Heather Good Time Fun Show. He also has a hot dog named after him in Tulsa because he's a real man of the people.

Hello internet people! Welcome back to another thrilling installment of The People's History of Film. This one is an extra special episode because I sat down with GoodTrash Media's own Frightful Femme, Kirsten Therkelson. On top of writing my favorite column on GoodTrash Media (sorry Dustin and Arthur) and performing comedy in Oklahoma City, Kirsten is also one of my nearest and dearest friends. Seriously. We've been best friends for the better part of 15 years. More importantly, Kirsten is legitimately one of the funniest and most insightful people I know. So, this is an exciting one.

Some of you may be thinking, "I don't want to listen to Dalton talk to one of his friends for a third episode in row." Well, too bad. It's my show. Also, you rush to judgment very quickly and have weirdly specific hang-ups. Start your own podcast.

Welcome back to The People’s History of Film. I hope. If you gave up on me already then I really dropped the ball. This episode we continue the hype for the Oklahoma City based indie production The Harvesters by sitting down with the film's editor and one of my dearest friends Andrew McDonald. Yes, sometimes I get guests through nepotism. Andrew is also an actor in The Harvesters, as well as one of the film's producers. He's a damn renaissances man. For info about the film check out the preceding link.

As always the discussion starts with the first movie Andrew remembers seeing in a theater, but it isn't long before the two of us are discussing the impact each of our fathers had on our relationship to cinema.
