Minimally Invasive Mitral Valve surgery is an excellent technique to correct a problem with the valve that removes the risks associated with sternotomy. However, the technique continues to require manipulation of the aorta, either by cross-clamp or by endo balloon. Joe discusses a novel approach to minimally invasive mitral valve surgery that eliminates the need to touch the aorta and substantially reduces stroke risk.
