Host Marie Hulett speaks with John Gigliotti from Whole Life Pet Foods to talk about how his company’s pet food products adhere to strict, self-imposed standards that ensure quality and safety.  As pet lovers, everyone who is involved in bringing this line of pet food to the market makes sure that what they put out there, they would give to their own pets.  It’s good to know about companies like this.  Then, after our halftime break, Tina Spanevello from Collar Planet Online has some great early holiday shopping tips that revolve around fun gifts for our pets.

Host Marie Hulett talks with Zahra Nealy from the Pasadena Humane Society about current news from the shelter.  If you’ve never been to the Pasadena Humane Society, you really need to consider paying them a visit because they have so many wonderful programs, from training classes, to fun events, to pet adoption services that are phenominal.  We’ll hear more from Zahra.  Then, after our halftime break, Steve Appelbaum from animal behavior college will be dropping by to share some training tips to prepare your pets and keep them safe through the chaotic holiday season.  Even if your pet is well-trained, you’ll probably want to consider some refresher courses to avoid any trouble.

Host Marie Hulett talks with Liz Marshall who has spent a good chunk of her life working to end cruelty in farms, the fur industry, and research laboratories, among other places that we put far from our thoughts.  She is a passionate person who has lots to say and is doing so with a new feature film documentary.    Then, Maryanne Dell will be reviewing a new batch of animal related books and she has picked out some great new titles.

Host Marie Hulett talks with Robin Ganzert, the president and CEO of the American Humane Association has some really great updates about the Hero Dog Award nominees and the truly inspiring deeds these dogs have done to receive their nominations.  Some of their stories are definitely going to require tissue so you might want to be prepared for that!   Charmaine Hammond, an author and Team Toby Pet Therapy member will be stopping by to talk about her latest books documenting Toby’s adventures and the Mom’s Choice Award she just received (and is very proud of).

Host Marie Hulett talks with Robert Misseri, the president of Guardians of Rescue about his incredible organization that helps both our returning troops and dogs.  You’re going to love hearing about this. Then, after the halftime break, Gila Kurtz from Dog is Good, has some wonderful news about a project called BOLO that is raising awareness of the remarkable work guide dogs do for people every day.

Host Marie Hulett talks with Andrew Kirschner who is organizing a march against cruelty to animals.  He’s a passionate person who hopes to raise awareness about this issue.  And after our half time break, Dr. Katy Nelson will be checking in to talk about Pet Obesity Month…and no, this isn’t the month where we try and make our dogs and cats fat!  In fact, there are too many obese pets and for some reason, their owners think it’s cute or really no big deal...but Dr. Nelson definitely has a few things to say about that!

Host Marie Hulett talks with Justin Rudd, a young man who works tirelessly for various pet causes and it’s because of his efforts that we have a dog beach here in Long Beach, Howloween parades, Bull Dog Beauty Pageants, and holiday gift deliveries from Santa Paws to pets in shelters.  His name is Justin Rudd and I am a huge fan of his.  Also this week after our half time break, we’ll be speaking with Mike Johnson, KJAZZ Station Manager and Dog Lover.

Host Marie Hulett talks with Ted Stevens, the manager of the Long Beach Animal Shelter.  This shelter has come a long way since 1991 when it forst connected with the Pet Place and our old TV show. Ted has some very cool stories about all the success they are having with adoptions.  Then, after our halftime break, author Howard Van Es will delight dog lovers with details of his new book, Doggie Love, Why We Love Dogs so much.  The books includes the history of dogs and their human connection, why they make us laugh and feel happy, and their general cuteness factor.
