Host Marie Hulett talks wih Kay DeLoach of Westie Rescue—Westies, or more formally, West Highland White Terriers, are the regal looking little white dogs that are featured on Cesar brand pet food, if you can picture that.  And for King of the Hill fans, Hank’s neighbor Kahn owns a Westie named “Doggie!”  After the halftime break…it’s none other than our Pet Place Book reviewer, Maryanne Dell and she has picked out some books that you are going to just love!

Host Marie Hulett talks with Linda Carel, who is traveling everywhere trying to rally support and funds to make a new Los Angeles Area sanctuary possible. Then, after the halftime break, animal behaviorist Steve Appelbaum makes a return trip to the show to help folks who adopted new animal companions during the holidays overcome some common pet behavior issues.  This is about the time of year that many folks start relinquishing pets that were received during the holidays because these animals are developing undesirable habits.  Every pet can learn how to behave…they just need to know what’s expected of them.  Steve can definitely help with that.

Host Marie Hulett talks with Susan Peirce President and Co-founder Red Bucket Equine Rescue who has some beautiful rescue "tails" to share this morning. Whether you are a horse person or not, her stories will definitely tug at your heartstrings. And after our halftime break, Blythe Wheaton from the Pet Rescue Center has some great news about homeless pets finding forever families, and some others that are still looking for good homes…perhaps yours?

Host Marie Hulett talks with Kathleen Quinn, the Executive Director Pilots 'N Paws about the truly commendable all-volunteer organization that flies rescued pets to new homes, foster families, or special rescue sites.   And if that’s not enough to make you start smiling, after our halftime break, Pet Place Producer Mike Johnson chats with Marie about helping pets stay in shape.

Host Marie Hulett talks with Stephen Terry from Desperate Paws of Orange County about the OC Board of Supervisor’s proposal to publicize the names and addresses of owners of vicious dogs.  Then, after the halftime break, Dr. Charles Rawlings will describe the incredible undersea world of Living Shells.  A lot of us just think of shells and as pretty trinkets we can find on the beach or purchase in beach town gift-shops…but we rarely think of the animals who live in those shells.  They are quite remarkable and Dr. Rawlings has been up close and personal with them and has some great stories to tell about these fascinating creatures.

Host Marie Hulett talks with rescuer Joyce McRorie, a tireless volunteer for retired racing greyhounds needing homes; she'll share some great stories. Then, after the halftime break, Shawna McCabe from ROLDA, a rescue organization that helps street animals in Romania will bring updates and stories about the organization that are truly remarkable.

Host Marie Hulett talks with Russell Taylor of Modjeska Ranch Rescue who always brings the always entertaining news of diverse group of animals he provides a sanctuary for at his ranch.  If you’ve never heard Russell tell his tales, you are in for a treat. After the halftime break, Debbie Regal of Petopia stops by to fill us in on the success they are having with their homeless pet adoption center in a mall.  They opened their doors a little over a year ago and public response has been phenomenal.
