Late Nights at Blockbuster Christmas Edition

Elf

Come along as pass through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops, and then walk through the Lincoln Tunnel into one of our favorite Christmas movies.

Goofs: We were laughing so much I’m sure there are plenty.

Late Nights at Blockbuster

The second of three Christmas movies that we’ll be discussing during the month of December. We have some good random thoughts, recognize my face, and discuss that you should be wary of showing this to your kids when they are old enough to potentially pull these pranks on you.

We are here to help you celebrate the Christmas season by discussing three of our favorite Christmas movies for Late Nights at Blockbuster. Up first is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. We dedicate this podcast to the Griswold family Christmas!

Deep Thoughts on Shallow Subjects

In order to get you in the holiday spirit, we decided to run down our list of Top 5 Christmas Movies. In order to be a Grinch, we decided to do a Top 5 overrated Christmas movies list as well. There were some heads being shaken and incredulous looks being cast, but we made it out with our friendship still intact. We hope you enjoy as you set out on your Christmas movie season.

Goofs: The Movies That Made Us is the Netflix documentary series that Troy was struggling to recall when talking about Elf.

NFL Tiers Week 12 Update

We give updated rankings at the week 2/3 mark of the season. Let us know if you agree with who we think is Elite (slim pickings), and who belongs in Pooptown.

Goofs: We'll try not to watch a football game in the middle of talking about football next time.

Late Nights at Blockbuster

Our newest Late Nights at Blockbuster is a celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. We talk at length about Dumbledore, McGonagall, the rules of Quidditch, and…Thunderpants.

Goofs: Troy couldn’t remember Delores Umbridge’s name for some reason and called her pink cat lady. Rik Mayall is the actor that was cast as Peeves.

Deep Thoughts on Shallow Subjects

We were so inspired by our Lord of the Rings score talk that we decided it would be fun to discuss our Top 10 movie scores.

Goofs: When discussing The Mission, it's Gabriel's Oboe not Daniel's Oboe. Lisa Gerrard is the female voice on the Gladiator score not Enya.

Troy - Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Godfather, Indiana Jones, The Man with No Name Trilogy, Jurassic Park, Gladiator, The Mission, and Batman (1989)

Honorable Mentions - Black Panther, Interstellar, Up, Sicario, and Meet Joe Black

Byers - Star Wars, LOTR, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Gladiator, Batman (1989), Braveheart, Nightmare Before Christmas, Black Panther, and Back to the Future

Honorable Mentions - Indiana Jones, Jaws, Conan the Barbarian, Dark Knight Trilogy, and Psycho

Late Nights at Blockbuster

Join us as we close out The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by discussing The Return of the King. We’re still arguing over Orlando vs Vigo, and we find plenty more to disagree about, but also lots of things we love, and we toned down the quotes in this installment compared to The Two Towers. Laurie tries to go Karl Malone over MJ in the 1999 MVP race when we hand out our award on Who Won the Movie.

Late Nights at Blockbuster

We’re back for round two in Middle Earth as we move on to the second installment in the trilogy. We’re still arguing over Orlando vs Vigo, and we find plenty more to disagree about, but also lots of things we love, and more quotes than you could ever imagine. So get some taters and boil them, mash them, stick them in a stew and join us as we breakdown The Two Towers.

Goofs: Troy forgets that the drinking game scene is in The Return of the King instead of The Two Towers

NFL Tiers Week 8 Update

We give updated rankings at (almost) the halfway mark of the season. Let us know if you agree with who we think is Elite, and who belongs in Pooptown.

Goofs: Someday we won't have to remind each other of people's names....actually we'll probably just get worse the older we get, but we'll try.
