When history seems to repeat itself. When you see yourself hitting the same wall, reacting as always: defensive, creating your own truths, searching outside yourself to let others make you feel better, avoiding the point of no return? 
Nienke can see life looks like a history repetition, but after her point of no return three years ago, she stopped the attitude that seemed resilient but, in reality, was bouncing back. The point of no return gave her a portal to Phoenix. While phoenixed, there is no return possible. 
It takes courage to transform the reactor in you into the creator: the same letters, different frequencies. Either you step into it or repeat yourself—at all costs.

Nienke is counting down the days until her trip to South Korea. Part of her trip will involve visiting the demilitarisation zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea.
Peace is not the absence of war but an attitude toward peace. Peace seemed hijacked by happiness in the last century, but we need to elevate our Peace attitude further than that.
In Self-leadership, the practice of pause and feeling is a skill to develop.
To develop the courage to pause before responding. So we can respond with response-ability. Peace isn't just the SDG 16 of the UN. (Goal 16 is about promoting peaceful and inclusive societies, providing access to justice for all and building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels. People everywhere should be free of fear from all forms of violence and feel safe as they go about their lives, whatever their ethnicity, faith or sexual orientation).
We can start with ourselves, without any money investment: with the peace attitude, learning to pause and listen to ourselves and other, neutral. Leaving the hunger for applause beside you. Starting to feel grateful for what you can, with compassion for what you can't yet and care for what is to come. Be an example. Make peace a verb.

Due to what comes our way in life, we create our perceived perception as 'the truth'. By creating our truth, we keep ourselves safe from feeling hurt, disappointed or insecure. 
It predicts how we listen; it shapes our actions. We create our self-protection limiting beliefs. 
But life will give us the same situations until we learn and transform because there is only the truth we created. Maybe you don't get what you want until you see you create what you need, in order to shift. 
By taking her armour down and looking under the soil to the roots, Nienke discovered nothing was true; it was only a perspective.  
Being self-honest and putting your vanities aside is the most intimate place you can go. 
It can be the most fruitful one as well: to rise.
