The Pigskin Party Podcast - NFL Football

Like Lamar Jackson on Monday Night Football, Brian and Will run back onto the field in the 4th quarter to discuss some politics. For this week's "Palate Cleanser" the guys discuss video games and how that industry has changed since they were kids (1:46). They then jump into the fray to chat about the general election (11:19), whether the Republican Party might split up (16:37) and close it out talking about a Wall Street Journal Opinion article about the incoming First Lady (29:37).

He's back! Will Southard rejoins the PPP with his unique blend of humor and analysis.  The guys talk about that crazy MNF game and what they think happened with Lamar (2:29). They then go around the NFL to discuss the MVP race (12:06), the latest coaching changes with the Raiders (15:49), Jalen Hurts' victorious 1st start (24:59) and Will gives his thoughts on the state of the Patriots (33:00). They preview and pick each upcoming game for Week 15 (54:18) and bring it home with their weekly Daily Fantasy "Highers and Flyers" at each position (1:12:51).

Like Boba Fett coming back from the dead, Jay Averill returns to chat politics with Brian. In this week's Palate Cleanser, the guys discuss their Top 5 shows of all time (0:53) with clearly different criteria for their rankings. They follow that up with an update on the Presidential election  (12:54) before moving on to discuss if the US can ever see a legitimate third  political party (19:48), Presidential pardons and the precedents they set (28:28)  and close it out talking about Covid vaccines (34:06).

Brian welcomes lifelong 49ers fan Jay Averill to the PPP. The two breakdown the latest NFL news (3:50), including the Jets  and Chargers coaching situations, Jalen Hurts time in Philly as well as the latest suspension and Covid updates. Jay gives his thoughts on the future of his Niners (31:15) followed by an in-depth look at the playoff picture after Week 13 (40:56) and Week 14 game previews and picks (51:13). Lastly they top it off with some fantasy chat and weekly DFS picks (1:15:07).

Guest Claudy Roman tries to convince Brian that Better Call Saul is worth his time and is a must-watch follow up to Breaking Bad (1:29). They then jump into politics to discuss general election updates (7:45), down-ballot ticket splitting (12:48) and what's next for President Trump after the White House (20:12).

Brian is joined by die-hard Eagles fan Claudy Roman as they discuss the latest NFL news (4:40) including coaching changes, Covid-19 and suspensions. They follow that up by recapping all the action from Week 12 in the NFL (14:40), checking in on the current playoff picture (42:14) and then previewing and making their picks for each upcoming Week 13 game (45:10). They close it out by giving their weekly DFS picks at each position (66:20).

Brian calls Will Southard in off the bench to come and talk politics. They start with the latest Covid-related news with the Ravens-Steelers game (2:50) followed by a superhero-fueled Palate Cleanser (8:40) and then jump right into the political discussion (14:38). It includes updates on the general election, the latest on the legal challenges from the Trump campaign, the transition process and speculation on Biden's cabinet.

Brian brings his little brother, Justin McFadden, on to the PPP to discuss the latest NFL news including Joe Burrow's injury and Covid updates. The two also break down the NFL games from Week 11 and look ahead to Week 12 while making their picks for each game during Thanksgiving Week. Finally they top it off with some Daily Fantasy advice by sharing their Higher and Flyer picks at each position. Check out episode 2b to hear the brothers chat about politics!
