On episode seven of The Platform Podcast, I got to hear one of the wildest, most inspiring stories I've heard so far. Nesh, a DJ and co-owner of After Dark Entertainment, joined the show to talk about his journey through life with an addiction to drugs and alcohol, running a successful company and being a DJ.

From being addicted to drugs and alcohol at a young age to beating the addiction and being sober for the past six years, Nesh explains how the addiction was so bad it landed him in jail and how he believes he'd be dead if it weren't for the right support around him.

Cleaning up. From Clean Boy Promotions to After Dark, event promotions have always been his thing. Now he's looking to take over Nashville and help build the city into an even bigger and better party destination.

Building connections through events is what it's all about. Whether he's networking himself or introducing others, he's here for it.

In an industry where he's surrounded by people who aren't sober, he still manages to be the life of the party while staying on track.

On episode six of The Platform Podcast, I sit down with a jack of all trades, Xander! The New York native details how he went from working in corporate America, to moving to Nashville to pursuit his creative passions.

Music has been engrained into xndr’s DNA since the start of his life with his mother being a music teacher. We address the difference in learning curves between DJs and how having a formal education has helped him learn quickly in the DJ world.

Taking risks, or as xndr calls them, “Calculated YOLO’s.”

Transitioning from music to nightlife photography and videography. How his experience in one correlates to the other and helps immensely when he’s shooting artists or events.

Being “underqualified” doesn’t matter. Xndr tackles his approach to work and how opportunities can arise by putting yourself out there, even if you may not be qualified. Plus, the mistakes you make, end up making you better.

I can’t stress enough how important a professional quality press kit is for an artist, yet so many don’t take the time to get it done.
