The Platformers: A Video Game (and Nerd Culture) Podcast

This week, the boys don't let technical issues get them down! They bust straight through with an hour on Marvel and Guardians Vol. 2, and then finish off with some Persona 5 talk and Metroid rumors!

This week Brian, Chris, and Marty talk about the Switch, Zelda, the hookshot, and Nintendo in general. Brian once again decries the lack of Metroid games, and "The Circle" prompts a deep discussion about security vs. privacy. They then talk about whether good art should be pursued, even if it doesn't make money. Also, a little tidbit about some Zelda Dungeons & Dragons? That's crazy talk, but this IS The Platformers, after all...

Marching boldly into a tornado of technical issues, the boys deliver a podcast in which they talk about the new Call Of Duty trailer, Valerian, Yooka Laylee, Brian falls even more in love with Persona 5, and Chris issues a challenge to all Mario Kart fans.

The guys talk about ALL KINDS of things, from Kendrick Lamar to Power Rangers, Persona 5 to Puyo Puyo Tetris, seeing movies alone to our expectations for the new Star Wars movie. Also, Episode 42 just happened to fall on 4/20... What are the odds?! Go get yourself a Mountain Dew Doritos 360 no-scope!

This week, the boys blitz through a super-short episode fraught with technical issues, and for that, they apologize. Brian brings up the new Thor: Ragnarok trailer, and highlights The Behemoth's "Pit People" preview and the Xbox One UI update, Chris gives his partial review of Yooka-Laylee, Marty talks about Overwatch: Uprising, and the whole group gives their hot-take on the Nintendo Direct, and whether Sony will respond with a new portable.

Enjoy the show!

This week the boys deftly maneuver and muscle for rank, as they effortlessly transition from one topic to the next, including a discussion about Xbox Scorpio’s newly revealed specifications, some of the best albums of all time, and then they get serious and talk personal histories, and the point when they decided to strike out on their own. The guys round the show out by talking about their opinions on musicals.

This week Brian totally forgets to introduce himself, Chris, OR Marty, and just jumps straight into talking about Dave Chappelle, Destiny 2, StarCraft Remastered, and much, much more. Are reboots bad for franchises? Find out in the next episode of Dragon Ball Z!

This week the boys talk about the best ways to enjoy beer, hidden arm muscles, and more Zelda. Brian gives the crew an education on "pressed ham", and Marty gives his thoughts on Mass Effect: Andromeda. Also, be sure to watch out for those original Beauty and the Beast spoilers! ;)

This week, Marty is stuck in a swamp, so Brian and Chris have an intimate chat about Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as well as the Kinda Funny split, and Chris figures out what worming is!

Don't drown in this juicy episode, because there are some light, mechanical, spoilers for Zora's Domain and a few shrines in Zelda!

Also, if you listen closely, you can hear Brian ramble due to fatigue from moving! A lot of "like-like's" in this episode! ;)

This week it's a HUGE episode and we talk about Horizon: Zero Dawn, Brian's final review of Nioh, the new X-Men movie "Logan", and a MASSIVE chunk of time talking about the new Nintendo Switch console, as well as The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, and so much more. Buckle up for safety!
