The Pod-Cast

As we wait for the full group to gather around and officially ring in the New Year (which may indeed take until February), we still managed to spend some time on the cherished tradition, What’s Up With the Whales. After Cameron miraculously transforms from a whale into a human being, Bryan joins him in celebrating his good fortune by talking about things and recording it all. One day, a Stephen was walking through the forest when he came upon a Bryan. The Bryan said: “Wanna do a pod-cast?” The Bryan was suspiciously cheerful about this notion, but the Stephen played along, because he did not like conflict. However, the Stephen did not realize he would be doing the pod-cast with a Cameron. The Cameron ate the Stephen and laughed and laughed and laughed. What truly makes an episode of Disembodied Voices? Is it the quartet of Zachary, Stephen, Cameron, and Bryan? Is it talking over each other in an attempt to tell funny funny jokes? Is it talking about video games for slightly too long? From Fraiser to the 1953 Iranian coup d’etat, no one outside of a creatively minded conspiracy theorist can say Stephen’s interests fit together. But neither does this podcast! Stephen, Cameron, and Bryan are in good spirits, which means they discard sense of order and cohesion to instead talk about their lives and maybe a little bit of Destiny. What began as a joking prompt for Stephen to recite his semi-encyclopedic knowledge about Frasier Crane became an actually interesting 45-minute long discussion about sitcoms, cynicism, and reliving the past.
